Chapter 392 I Don't Understand What You're Saying
Todd seemed to understand but not quite. Could it be that Mr. Doyle intentionally broke up with Ms. Kyte to protect her?
Todd secretly nodded, thinking that this possibility was quite likely. The CEO would do anything to protect Evelyn.
But he wondered if Evelyn knew about Mr. Doyle's efforts.
After Todd left, Dermot sat alone in the office, overwhelmed by exhaustion. During this period, he had been constantly vigilant, fearing that Benjamin would harm Evelyn, and had hardly rested.
Now that they had broken up... well, he would explain everything to her after resolving everything else.
As for Ava?
Dermot's face darkened slightly. He took out his phone and called Todd again, "Find out who Evelyn has been in contact with these past few days."
He didn't believe Evelyn would just flip through his study without any reason. Surely someone had told her something.
The news of Evelyn and Dermot's breakup spread quickly among the upper class of Morris City. They didn't even know Evelyn and Dermot were together in the first place, but now everyone knew about the breakup.
When Sarah saw Evelyn at the company, she was stunned. "Are you okay? Why did you come so early?"
"Me? I'm fine," Evelyn was surprised. Was she supposed to have some problem?
"I came to handle the plagiarism matter. We need to resolve it early; otherwise, our Evelyna Fashion brand will be in trouble." She explained.
Sarah saw that Evelyn seemed calm and unaffected, not at all like someone who had just gone through a breakup. She couldn't describe the strange feeling in her heart, but she was genuinely worried.
"Evelyn, you and Dermot..." She couldn't help it. She was really concerned about Evelyn's situation and had to ask.
Upon hearing this, Evelyn paused and then shook her head. "It's just a breakup, what's the big deal?"
"Don't worry, I'm not the kind of person who will fall apart." Evelyn reassured her and Marina, appearing surprisingly upbeat.
But Sarah knew that the more Evelyn pretended nothing had happened, the more she was actually hurting inside.
She actually wished for Evelyn to cry her heart out, at least that way she could truly vent her emotions. The current situation only showed that she kept everything inside. She wanted to say something else, but Evelyn didn't give her the chance.
"Bring Emily in, this whole thing has a lot to do with her." If it wasn't for her, how could Natalie have obtained the design drafts, or the finished clothing samples they designed together?
Sarah didn't ask further and had someone bring Emily in. When Emily was called into Sarah's office, she had her suspicions, but she wasn't certain. She had been so careful; it couldn't be discovered.
"Sarah, did you call for me?" Sarah used to live in Tara Village as well. Though Emily wasn't close to her, it didn't hurt to build connections now. Sarah didn't speak, but instead looked at Evelyn.
Evelyn didn't waste any time and walked up to Emily, asking directly, "What did Natalie give you to make you help her like this?"
"I don't understand what you're talking about." Emily's heart skipped a beat, but she tried to remain calm on her face.
"Don't understand?" Evelyn sneered. "So it wasn't you who stole my drafts and our company's finished clothing samples for her?" Without those two things, Natalie wouldn't have been able to create such similar clothes.
Emily quickly stepped back, feeling a great shock internally but appearing distressed on her face. "Evelyn, what are you saying? How could I do such a thing?"
"You didn't? Don't you know that I have surveillance cameras in my study?" Evelyn looked at her with a smile that carried a hint of chilliness.
