Chapter 850 Isn't It Weird?

Peter gave her a long look and said, "Let's call it a draw this time. Neither of us won."

Evelyn was about to protest, but Peter didn't wait and headed for the exit.

Watching him leave, Evelyn was speechless. "Is he always like this?"

"Isn't it weird?" Jennifer asked, looking in the direction Peter had gone.

Evelyn nodded. "Yeah, but he's not as bad as you said."

Jennifer shrugged. She didn't know what Peter was thinking, but she was relieved it was over. "Anyway, as long as it didn't cause too much trouble, it's fine. Too bad I didn't get a chance to step in."

Just then, her phone rang. She checked the caller ID, and it was the bar manager.

Jennifer answered, and her expression changed immediately. "What? Someone's causing trouble; I'm coming over right now. We need to teach them a lesson."

After hanging up, she glanced at Evelyn and got ready to leave. "I have to go back now. Be careful these days. If Peter comes looking for you again, let me know."

"Is something wrong at the bar?" Evelyn asked.

"Nothing major, just some troublemakers. I've tolerated them a few times, but it seems there's no need anymore. Today, we must teach them a lesson," Jennifer replied.

Those troublemakers really don't understand respect without a good beating.

"Do you need my help?" Evelyn asked.

Jennifer shook her head. "This small matter doesn't need you to step in. I can handle it."

"Alright then, you go ahead. Call me if you need anything." Evelyn didn't stop her. Since she had decided to let Jennifer manage the bar, she wouldn't interfere too much.

Jennifer quickly parted ways with Evelyn, and once she left, Evelyn couldn't help but laugh.

She hadn't expected Jennifer to be such a workaholic. When she first met her, Evelyn thought she must be someone who didn't like to work, which was why she hadn't made much money.

Now, it seemed just the opposite.

"What’s so funny, Ms. Kyte?" A male voice came from behind Evelyn. She turned around and saw Otis walking out of the hospital, her smile freezing.

Quickly, she regained her composure and smiled. "Is Mr. Doyle feeling unwell? Why are you coming out of the hospital?"

"I came to the hospital to find you. I didn't expect you to be off work already. Now, I ran into you outside the hospital." Otis smiled, but it was a smile that made people uncomfortable.

Evelyn forced a smile. "Really? What a coincidence!"

If she had known, she would have left the parking lot a bit later, and then she wouldn't have had the bad luck to run into Otis.

For some reason, even though Otis had never done anything to her and had always been polite, Evelyn didn't like him. Maybe it was because Otis was too cunning.

Evelyn wondered if it was becuause of Dermot.

She thought that perhaps she subconsciously disliked them because she knew they were in competition with Dermot.

At the thought of it, she couldn't help but feel a bit scared. If that were the case, Dermot's influence on her was indeed significant.

Seeing her lost in thought, Otis asked, "What are you thinking about?"

"Oh, nothing. Did you need something, Mr. Doyle?" she asked.

"Well, I couldn't get you to have dinner with me last time, so I'm here to invite you again today. Ms. Kyte, you wouldn't make me invite you a third time, would you?" Otis asked with a smile.
