Evelyn felt a pang of heartache and told him, "All you need to do now is to take care of yourself. If you ever encounter any difficulties, feel free to come find me."
Evelyn didn't mind. After he left, she turned to John on the hospital bed and asked, "How are you feeling? Are you feeling well?"
"I... I'm fine," he forced a smile, his cheeks slightly reddening.
He could be indifferent when facing his father, but he felt a bit embarrassed in front of Evelyn.
"If you have any questions, just tell me. I'm your attending physician," she said.
John nodded, then thought of something and his face turned embarrassed. "I... I don't have money to pay for the medical expenses."
He had heard that the doctor in front of him was very famous, so the surgery must be expensive. As a child, he simply couldn't afford it.

"The police called you, right? What do you think?" Evelyn asked, a bit worried that John's father might have convinced him.
If Nicole came out, who knows what she might do to John? He might not survive the next time.
John nodded. His gaze slightly darkened. "I'll tell them the truth."
Evelyn smiled, as long as he tells the truth, that means he won't let Nicole off the hook.
"Then what about your father...?" Evelyn was a bit worried.

She called the security department and asked them to be cautious and not let Mr. Lin disturb John's recovery.

"Dermot, something happened to my dad's company, and he was taken away too," Cassie said with a teary voice over the phone.
Frowning, Dermot felt annoyed. "I already knew. I'll figure it out."
"Dermot, thank you," Cassie said helplessly. Besides saying thank you, there was nothing else she could do.
Hanging up, Dermot instructed Todd to find out what had happened and added, "Also, investigate the person who posted this. How could they inexplicably target the Ackers family?"
"Alright," Todd nodded and left the office.
