Chapter 711 Long Time No See
Evelyn soon forgot about meeting Geoffrey, not taking it seriously and unaware that someone was already contemplating her.
After leaving the hospital, she went to the Darkmoon Group, which was managed by Sarah and Luke, rather than Kyte Group.
To be precise, the group was mainly managed by Luke now, as Sarah had devoted most of her energy to the fashion design company.
Yet, Evelyn didn't view this as negative. Fashion design was Sarah's strong suit, likely influenced by her ex-husband. Therefore, she was currently putting in extra effort to elevate the brand and outshine the company she had previously established.
In the general manager's office, Luke saw her and couldn't help but joke, "Long time no see."
"Cut the crap," Evelyn rolled her eyes at him, but she felt a bit guilty since she hadn't been to the Darkmoon Group for a long time.
If it weren't for occasionally seeing news about the Darkmoon Group and knowing that the group was developing better and better, she would have almost forgotten she had this company.
Evelyn sat down opposite him and casually asked, "How's the group doing lately?"
"Reporting to the president, everything is going smoothly and developing steadily," Luke said in a mock-serious tone then he placed the group's financial report in front of her.
"These are the projects signed recently and the monthly financial reports. Take a look."
Evelyn felt a headache by looking at these documents. She casually picked one up and flipped through it. But the pages full of numbers made her dizzy and she couldn't read a single word.
She put down the document and cleared her throat, saying, "Since the group is under your management, you can make the decisions. No need to prepare these for me."
Mainly because she couldn't understand them.
"I really don't know how you plan to inherit the Kyte Group. Aren't you afraid of running it into the ground?" Luke could tell she didn't understand so he took the documents back.
Evelyn pouted. "There are people worrying about the Kyte Group. I just need to be a hands-off boss."
"You're really good at being a hands-off boss," He said, genuinely impressed by her trust and lack of concern about betrayal.
Evelyn smiled and raised an eyebrow at Luke. "I trust the people I choose. Since I chose you, I trust you completely. Go ahead and do your thing."
"So, I should thank you for your trust?" Luke was speechless, regretted working for Evelyn, and felt like she was an unfeeling capitalist constantly exploiting labor.
He used to envy Dermot, thinking it was impressive that he controlled Doyle Group and everyone repected him.
But now, people also worship Luke, yet he still felt unhappy and a bit tired.
"No need for that. It's mutual. You help me, and I help you," Evelyn said. Luke managed the company, giving her peace of mind, and he gained a sense of accomplishment. It was a win-win.
Luke didn't argue further. He closed the documents and asked, "Did you come here for something today?"
"Not really, and I just think we should expand our business scope," Evelyn said. She had come up with this thought recently.
It surprised Luke. "Like what?"
The Darkmoon Group was already involved in a wide range of industries. If they were to expand further, Luke really had no idea where to start.
Evelyn grinned at him, saying, "Although the company is doing well on the surface, we don't have much power behind the scenes. We have to pay others to get information, which is disadvantageous for us."
"You mean we should build our own information network, right?" Luke frowned. Clearly, he was contemplating the feasibility of this idea.
