Chapter 1315: You Can Leave After Explaining
Evelyn listened to Ava finish her spiel and was just like, "What the heck?"
How bored did Ava have to be to think this was fun?
Did she seriously get a kick out of watching her and Dermot bicker because of her?
Evelyn was pretty ticked off, and Ava could tell. She quickly added, "I swear, I didn't mean any harm. I just wanted to clear things up today so you and Dermot don't get the wrong idea because of me."
"You're making a big deal out of nothing. We wouldn't misunderstand each other over something so trivial," Evelyn shot back.
Ava let out a big sigh of relief. "Really? That's awesome."
"Yeah, now that you've explained, you can go." Evelyn felt like she had nothing more to say to Ava, and her hanging around was just keeping her from seeing patients.
Ava nodded and got up to leave.
After a few steps, Evelyn couldn't help but say, "Look, I don't get what you're thinking, but if you want a guy to marry you, you should just tell him how you feel."
"If he knows how you feel and still doesn't respond, then maybe you should think about whether he really likes you."
She threw in a few more words because she didn't want Ava bugging Dermot for help with this stuff anymore.
Ava was taken aback for a second, getting the hint. "I get it, I'm just making sacrifices for this love."
She was waiting for him to make sacrifices for their love, hoping to use other guys to make Delmar jealous. But it seemed like a lost cause. Delmar hadn't reached out to her at all.
"There's no such thing as sacrifice in love. If you really care for him, you shouldn't give up," Evelyn said softly.
Maybe thinking Evelyn had a point, Ava didn't argue. After a moment of thought, she said, "You're right, I'll go find him."
Maybe she really should just tell him straight up.
No matter what happens, she should face the music.
Ava left the hospital, and Evelyn didn't think about her anymore. As long as Ava didn't come looking for her and Dermot, she didn't really care what Ava did.
In the days that followed, Evelyn and Dermot enjoyed some peaceful times. This was probably their last special period before the wedding.
The day before the wedding, Evelyn went back to Kyte Manor. Tomorrow, she was getting hitched.
Bella and Blake had smiles on their faces, but there was also a hint of sadness.
Their only daughter was about to get married.
Bella took Evelyn's hand, gently slipping her own bracelet onto Evelyn's wrist. She said, "Evelyn, I've worn this bracelet for decades. It's not super valuable, but I hope you'll accept it."
Bella and Blake had actually prepared a bunch of gifts for Evelyn. But to Bella, none of those gifts were as precious as this bracelet on her wrist.
Evelyn looked at the bracelet on her wrist and sighed, "This is so precious, you should keep it. You don't need to give it to me."
"No matter how precious it is, it can't compare to you." To Bella, nothing was more precious than Evelyn.
During this time, Bella had almost come to see her every day.
When Evelyn was working at the hospital, Bella would bring her meals. Evelyn had to admit, she was touched.
Evelyn believed that Bella had no choice back then. Otherwise, she would have been a good mom.
Evelyn accepted Bella's kindness. She looked at Bella and said, "Thanks, Mom."
