Chapter 914 No Need to Work Too Hard
At the hospital, Evelyn finished her rounds and chatted with the patients scheduled for surgery on Monday. After ensuring there were no major issues, she left the hospital.
With two hours left until noon, she stood at the entrance, unsure where to go.
A cold wind blew, lifting her skirt, and she shivered, feeling more awake.
Remembering Luke's mention that Sarah was facing some difficulties, she decided to check it out. If there were problems, she could help.
She didn't find Sarah at the company. Sarah's assistant said she went to meet a client early in the morning.
Evelyn shook her head. Sarah was working harder than her. She felt a bit guilty, wondering if she was slacking as the boss.
She decided to visit her own office.
Yes, she had an office at Darkmoon Group, in the best spot, labeled as the President's office.
There were only two offices on the top floor: hers and the General Manager, Luke's.
Luke was running the show at Darkmoon Group. Evelyn had handed over the company's affairs to him and had no worries.
She knew Luke sought a sense of achievement more than money.
At her office door, she tried to push it open but realized it had a password lock. It was her first time visiting, and she didn't know the password.
This was quite embarrassing.
She had to go to Luke's office next door. She knocked, heard "come in," and entered.
Luke was buried in paperwork, not noticing her.
Evelyn thought Luke looked a bit like Dermot when he was serious.
It was odd that Benjamin wasn't career-oriented, but both his sons were hardworking and capable.
"What is it?" Luke finally looked up.
Seeing Evelyn, he was momentarily stunned.
"Sorry, I need the password for my office," Evelyn said, laughing awkwardly.
Luke snapped out of it and scoffed, "Ms. Kyte remembers she has an office here?"
"Don't say that. My absence shows I trust you, doesn't it?" Evelyn coughed, feeling guilty.
Luke couldn't argue. If Evelyn frequently pointed things out, he might not have stayed at Darkmoon Group.
"The default password is 123456. You can change it," he said, returning to his work.
Evelyn nodded in thanks and left.
At the door, she reminded him, "Don't work too hard. Take care of your health."
Luke chuckled. When he looked up, Evelyn had already closed the door and left.
Luke shook his head and went back to work.
Next door, Evelyn walked into her office. The decor was more feminine than Luke's, but she didn't mind.
Sitting in her office, Evelyn realized she didn't have much to do. She really was a dispensable president.
