Chapter 837 Marrying Me Is Quite a Bargain

"Don't you want to take over the Doyle family anymore?" Evelyn asked, resting her chin on her hand, eyes full of curiosity.

Dermot chuckled. "Of course I do. But what if I used the Doyle family as a gift for you? Marry me, and the Kyte family would instantly become the richest in Golombia. Sounds great, right?"

"Yeah, good idea," Evelyn said. If she agreed, Dermot might actually pull it off.

'But do I want that?' Evelyn wondered, but she didn't have an answer.

She stayed silent, but Dermot wasn't letting it go. "So, what do you think? Marrying me is quite a bargain."

He thought he was at least better than Joshua.

"Boring," Evelyn said, looking away. She didn't want to continue the conversation.

Even if Dermot was willing to marry into the Kyte family, Evelyn wasn't interested.

Joshua already made her feel guilty enough. Adding Dermot to the mix would just create chaos.

Dermot smiled but dropped the topic.

If he could, he'd prefer Evelyn to marry him. But he didn't mind marrying into the Kyte family either; it all depended on Evelyn.

While they were eating, Joshua arrived at the restaurant.

He didn't believe Evelyn had something to do. After checking, he found out she was having a meal with Dermot.

He got out of the car and walked into the restaurant, heading straight to their table. "What a coincidence! Evelyn, you're eating here?"

Evelyn was surprised. "Joshua?"

"Couldn't have dinner with you, so I came alone. Didn't expect to see you here," he said, sounding helpless.

Dermot scoffed internally. 'Humph, only a fool would believe that.'

But it didn't matter what he thought. What mattered was if Evelyn believed it.

Evelyn smiled, knowing Joshua was likely looking for her, but didn't call him out. "Yes, Mr. Doyle invited me for a meal."

"Discussing a collaboration?" Joshua asked, already sitting next to Evelyn like he belonged there.

Dermot's face darkened. "It's a personal matter."

He was hinting that he didn't want to be disturbed.

"Are you done talking?" Joshua asked again.

Just as Dermot was about to say no, Evelyn cut in, "Joshua, you came at the right time. We're almost done eating. You can take me home."

"No rush, I haven't eaten yet. Mr. Doyle, you don't mind if I join you, do you?" Joshua wasn't in a hurry to leave and wanted to see what Dermot was up to.

Coincidentally, Dermot had the same thought.

So, they sat opposite each other, both with faint smiles, making Evelyn feel helpless and speechless.

She wanted to leave, fearing they'd clash, but it still happened.

"If I'm not mistaken, Mr. Doyle and Evelyn have been divorced for a while. What personal matter could you have with her now? Don't tell me you're using personal matters as an excuse to pester her," Joshua said, his tone sharp.

Dermot didn't get angry. He smiled. "Even though we're divorced, it doesn't stop me from pursuing her. Mr. Garcia, you should understand."

"Of course, I understand," Joshua said through gritted teeth. "But Mr. Doyle should know that persistent pestering will only make people more disgusted."
