Chapter 320 Fear of Ending Up with Nothing
Seeing Evelyn so angry, Dermot didn't continue speaking in favor of Craig. He didn't want to have any unpleasantness with her on his first day as her boyfriend.
"Will you come with me tomorrow to Doyal Mansion to see Grandpa?" Dermot timely changed the topic, avoiding talking about Craig again.
Evelyn thought about it and realized that she hadn't seen Grandpa Doyle in a long time.
She didn't want to have too much involvement with Dermot before, so she deliberately kept some distance with Grandpa Doyle, but now...
"Alright." She nodded and didn't refuse.
The two of them returned to the garden while talking. Ruby Kite was resting in her room and Craig had left. Only Keith and Sarah remained in the garden.
Evelyn looked at the two, although there was no obvious romantic atmosphere between them, it wasn't too awkward either. She felt a little hopeful.
If Keith could really help Sarah let go of the past and start anew, it would actually be a good thing.
Seeing the two return, Keith and Sarah's conversation came to an end, "Is everything alright?"
Although Sarah wasn't very familiar with Ruby Kite, she was Evelyn's friend after all, so she naturally had some concerns.
Evelyn shook her head, "Nothing happened, don't worry."
"That's good."
Sarah didn't say much.
Questioning, Keith on the side couldn't resist saying, "Getting involved with that crazy Craig, she's asking for trouble."
Upon hearing this, Dermot's expression immediately turned cold, "Watch your mouth."
"Did I say something wrong? He is a crazy person to begin with." Calling him crazy is putting it lightly, he's a lunatic.
Dermot wanted to hit him, but with Evelyn there, he restrained himself from acting, "He's my friend and when you say that about him, it's like you're saying it about me. What? Do you think you're capable now?"
The Kartland family's issue hasn't been resolved yet, and Keith still needs to beg him for help. He dares to say something about Craig right in front of him, he's quite audacious.
"Dermot, don't mix the personal with the public." Keith was speechless. He just said a casual remark, was it really necessary to make such a big deal out of it?
The man snorted coldly, clearly keeping it in mind.
Seeing this, Marina didn't say anything and instead took Sarah aside to watch the fireworks, as for Dermot and Keith...she couldn't be bothered with them.
"Sarah, do you think my decision is really the right one?" Looking at the splendid fireworks in front of her, Evelyn actually had doubts in her heart.
Although she didn't deny her feelings for Dermot, being together with him seemed like a whole different matter.
Sarah, being a few years older and having more life experiences, could naturally sense Evelyn's worries.
Patting her shoulder, she smiled and said, "Evelyn, you're still young, you don't really need to consider so much, just follow your heart."
"I'm just afraid..." She bit her lip, "Afraid that it will all be in vain in the end."
Love is really exhausting, she's afraid that after giving her all, she'll end up completely wounded.
"Don't be afraid, even if it turns out to be in vain, so what? At least you have experienced the happiness that love brings. The process is also an experience, it doesn't always have to end perfectly to be considered worthwhile." Sarah comforted her.
She knew that Evelyn was overthinking things, in reality, she just lacked confidence in whether she and Dermot could last.
But Sarah felt that young people shouldn't consider so much.
Perhaps Sarah's comforting words had an effect, Evelyn shook her head, "Sarah, you're right, I've been overthinking."
"You're overthinking because deep down you care more about Dermot than you realize." Sarah hit the nail on the head.
Evelyn didn't refute, maybe she couldn't even clarify her own feelings for Dermot.
