Chapter 1154: After All, It's a Big Deal

"It's cool, I don't think it's a waste of time. Actually, I find it kinda interesting." Life's usually a snooze-fest, so she definitely didn't think this was a waste.

Hearing her say that, Dermot just shrugged. "Wanna head home first?"

"Nah, take me to Sarah's place. Maybe I can help out." In two days, Sarah and Keith were tying the knot, and she had to be swamped. As a bridesmaid, Evelyn had to check in.

Dermot didn't argue. He gave the driver an address.

"What about you? Got work?" Evelyn asked.

Dermot nodded. "Yeah, got a ton of stuff to catch up on. The Doyle Group's been keeping me on my toes, especially since the Doyle fam's not really in the picture anymore."

"You know, Dermot, you should think about bringing Jeffery or Melissa on board. They're Doyles too, and they seem like good folks. Bet they'd wanna see the company thrive."

Running such a big operation solo would keep Dermot buried in work, but with a couple more hands, it'd be way easier.

Dermot was quiet for a sec, seeing the sense in her words. "I'll chat with them later, see what they think."

He didn't have any beef with the Doyle family members. Partly 'cause he was confident in himself, and partly 'cause he believed Jeffery and Melissa didn't have any bad intentions. They were definitely more trustworthy than Gerald and Otis.

The car soon pulled up at Sarah's place. Since moving to Golombia, Sarah had bought a house there, and it was buzzing with activity.

She was getting married, and even though it was her second go-round, it was still a big deal for Sarah's parents. They'd always worried she'd give up on marriage after her first one tanked.

Luckily, she was still down to get hitched.

They'd met Keith before. He'd been a bit of a flake in the past, but now, they could see he genuinely liked Sarah and treated her well.

So they didn't have any other demands for Keith, as long as Sarah was happy.

When Evelyn arrived, there were a ton of relatives at Sarah's house.

"Mr. Porter, Mrs. Porter, hey there." Evelyn greeted Sarah's parents as soon as she walked in.

The place was packed. After saying hi to Sarah's parents, Sarah dragged her out of the house and into the coffee shop across the street. "Finally, some peace and quiet."

Even Evelyn thought the house was chaotic.

But those were all relatives, and Sarah couldn't say anything. She'd been dying to find an excuse to leave, and luckily, Evelyn showed up.

"That's awesome. Getting married is a big deal. Your folks just want you to have a grand wedding." Evelyn tried to cheer her up, not wanting Sarah to be bummed out.

"Yeah, I get it," Sarah sighed. "I wanted to keep it low-key, just a nice dinner with family, but Keith wanted the whole shebang. Honestly, it's turned into such a circus." She'd been perfectly happy skipping the fancy ceremony, the endless photoshoots, and the extravagant banquet. A simple gathering at a nice restaurant would've been just fine.
