Chapter 980: He Got What He Deserved

Inside the cabin, Evelyn and Dermot watched the scene outside. They couldn't hear the conversation but had their own thoughts.

Dermot wondered if he should plan a big love declaration too. He worried their relationship wasn't ready for that and feared rejection. It wasn't the rejection itself that scared him, but the thought of Evelyn pulling away and undoing their progress. It was really troubling.

Evelyn, on the other hand, was genuinely moved by what she saw. She felt Sarah deserved Keith's effort. To her, Sarah was like a sister, and her happiness was always a concern. If Sarah and Keith were together, it would be a good match, as long as Keith didn't mess around like he did in Moris City. Otherwise, Evelyn wouldn't let him off the hook.

Evelyn didn't crave grand declarations for herself. She preferred a simple life. As long as they liked each other, that was enough.

Outside, Keith successfully placed the necklace around Sarah's neck, signaling his success. Even from afar, Evelyn could sense Keith's happiness. Soon, they walked into the cabin. Keith was beaming, while Sarah looked a bit shy. Evelyn pulled her aside to give her some time to calm down.

"Evelyn, why didn't you give me a heads-up?" Sarah complained softly.

Evelyn asked, "If I had told you Keith planned to declare his love here, would you have shown up?"

Sarah probably wouldn't have come if she knew in advance, so Evelyn hadn't told her. Now it seemed her decision was right.

"Sarah, did you say yes?" Evelyn wanted to confirm, even though she saw the necklace.

Sarah nodded, cheeks slightly flushed. "Yes, I did."

"Sarah, that's great. You'll be happy, and even happier as time goes on." The past would be left behind, and they would all have new lives. Sarah nodded, eyes shimmering with hope.

"Thank you, Evelyn," Sarah said softly.

"Thank me?" Evelyn was puzzled.

"Yes, if it weren't for you dealing with Nolan, I might have taken much longer to move on." Nolan was in prison, and his company had been acquired by Evelyn and merged into the Darkmoon Group. Without that, Sarah might not have let go so quickly.

Evelyn chuckled, "He got what he deserved."

"Yes, you're right," Sarah agreed, her gaze shifting to Keith with tenderness. Then she asked Evelyn, "What about you? When do you plan to start over?"

Evelyn hadn't expected the question. She pursed her lips, thinking. "Maybe soon, or maybe just like this."
