Chapter 1374 Extra: Aidan and Phoebe (49)
Back at the villa, Aidan escorted Phoebe to her room but showed no intention of leaving, which made Phoebe feel awkward and unsure of his intentions.
"It's getting late. You should go rest," Phoebe said, breaking the silence. She couldn't possibly let Aidan stay and watch over her.
Aidan didn't leave. He looked at her and asked, "The doctor said you shouldn't get your wound wet. How are you going to take a shower?"
Phoebe was puzzled.
"I'm not showering tonight," Phoebe said with a forced laugh. Discussing such a topic felt a bit inappropriate.
"If you want to shower, I can help," Aidan offered, sounding completely serious.
Phoebe doubted that she had heard correctly.
Seeing her confusion, Aidan quickly added, "I can have a maid come and help you shower."
Hearing this, Phoebe breathed a sigh of relief. She had thought Aidan was offering to help her himself, which would have been incredibly awkward.
"No need, skipping a day won't make much difference," she said, not being overly obsessed with cleanliness.
Noticing her insistence, Aidan didn't press further. "Alright, get some rest. Call me if you need anything."
"Okay. You should rest early too." Seeing him finally leave, Phoebe felt relieved. She couldn't handle much more of this. She needed some quiet time to think about what had happened tonight, especially Aidan's behavior.
Soon, Aidan left the room, but instead of going to bed, he turned and walked into the study. The concern on his face vanished, replaced by a cold indifference. He took out his phone and saw a message from Evelyn. She had quickly found out that Kurt was behind the group of assassins.
Aidan knew Kurt. By blood, he was his brother, but for some reason, Aidan had no memory of him. But he didn't care about that. He only knew that Kurt had crossed his line.
Originally, he didn't want to get too entangled with the Lowe family, but now, that was no longer an option. Since the Lowe family was so eager for him to return, he would grant their wish. But they had to handle the consequences.
Aidan made up his mind, and that night, Sienna received his message saying he was willing to return to the Lowe family.
Sienna was delighted. Although she hadn't seen Aidan in many years, he was still her son by blood, and he was very capable. With him taking over the Lowe family, she believed the others wouldn't have any objections.
However, Sienna wasn't naive. Aidan's sudden agreement was suspicious, and she wouldn't trust him easily. Some consideration was necessary. But regardless, the outcome was still favorable.
The next day, both Byron and Kurt learned of Aidan's decision to return to the Lowe family. Byron had no reaction. If it had been earlier, he might have felt happy like Sienna. But now, he knew Aidan wouldn't genuinely want to return to the Lowe family. He must have his reasons.
Kurt remained silent. His subordinates had failed last night and were captured. He was worried they had already confessed. If they had, Aidan's sudden decision to return to the Lowe family would be very telling. He was concerned that Aidan was coming back for revenge.
Despite his worries, Kurt couldn't voice them. If Sienna found out he had made a move against Aidan, she wouldn't let him off easily. Moreover, he didn't want to disappoint her. He was troubled and at a loss for what to do.
