Chapter 38

Seeing Dermot's anger, Keith didn't dare to provoke him anymore. After all, he was no match for him. But that didn't mean he would stop.

He might not be Dermot's rival in a one-on-one fight, but he had a fighting family and wasn't necessarily worse than the Zhous either.

"Why are you here?" Dermot stared at the red rose in his hand, feeling particularly uneasy.

Keith shrugged and looked towards the operating room. "Of course, I'm here to pursue my dream lover. What else did you think?"

Dream lover?

Dr. Kyte became his dream lover overnight?

"I warned you to stay away from her," Dermot gritted his teeth. If it weren't for so many people around, he would have really hit Keith.

Keith rolled his eyes at him. "Mr. Doyle, do you care too much? Is Dr. Kyte related to you?"

Cassie stood beside them, listening to their conversation, jealous to the point of going crazy.

Keith was actually pursuing Dr. Kyte?

And from Dermot's attitude, it seemed like he also had a special relationship with Dr. Kyte.

Why?

Why were two such outstanding men both circling around that woman?

Dermot was angry, and when he wanted to say more, Cassie grabbed his sleeve. "Dermot, the doctor is still waiting."

Dermot had to suppress his anger and warn Keith with a glance before leaving with Cassie.

Watching their backs as they left, Keith smirked. "Didn't you say 'follow me'? Looks like you're not that calm after all."

In the doctor's office, after completing all of Cassie's examinations, the doctor said, "Everything looks good right now, but you can't be careless. Keep on maintaining your health and come back for regular check-ups."

"Okay, thank you, Doctor." Cassie breathed a sigh of relief. She was really afraid of a relapse.

"Dermot?" Cassie called him, but Dermot didn't answer, his gaze fixed on the window, lost in thought.

Cassie spoke up again, bringing Dermot back to reality. "Are you okay?"

"Hmm, the doctor said your recovery is going well." Cassie replied, but she wasn't feeling good.

Although Dermot didn't say anything, Cassie could sense that he was thinking about Evelyn when he zoned out earlier.

"That's good. Let's go," Dermot stood up and said.

Cassie followed him and soon they were out of the hospital gates.

"I'll have the driver take you back, I have something to take care of," Dermot said.

Cassie's heart sank slightly as if she already knew what Dermot was going to do. She was unwilling, but she had no choice but to nod. "Okay then."

After Cassie left, Dermot turned around and walked back towards the hospital. When he reached the door of the operating room, Evelyn had just come out. He saw Keith walking up to her with a smile and holding out the rose.

But Evelyn didn't accept it, and for some reason, Dermot's anger reduced slightly.

"Tired? Let me take you out for a nice meal," Keith said.

Evelyn didn't expect him to be waiting here for so long and was somewhat surprised. "Aren't you busy?"

"It's okay, don't worry about me. The company has so many employees; I have things to do too," he smiled, pretending that it was Evelyn's concern for him.

Evelyn was speechless. Who was worrying about him?

This guy was really good at ingratiating himself.

Just as Evelyn was hesitating whether to go out to dinner with him, Marina rushed over in a hurry. "Something's wrong, Dr. Kyte!"
