Chapter 799 When Do You Plan to Get Married?

Evelyn was taken aback and a bit scared. "Joshua, are you kidding me?"

He chuckled awkwardly and said nothing.

They both knew it wasn't a joke. If Evelyn wanted to play dumb, he wouldn't pressure her, or it would make her repulsed.

Blake, on the other hand, couldn't help but smile. He found it amusing that Evelyn would withdraw.

He looked at Joshua and secretly gave him a thumbs-up.

Joshua smiled in gratitude. It felt good to have someone on his side.

Evelyn, who was unaware of their gestures, thought for a moment and finally agreed. "Joshua, I'm happy you can join the Kyte Group, but I would like to tell you in advance that if you want to resign, you can tell me anytime. Don't force yourself to stay because of me."

He replied, "Don't worry. I'm not the type to make myself suffer."

With that, the matter was settled. As dinner was ready, the three of them headed to the dining table and enjoyed a pleasant dinner.

Compared to the cheerful atmosphere of the Kyte family, the Doyle family was quite oppressive.

After struggling, the only external competitor left in the Doyle family was Dermot. There were a few others before, but they had all been eliminated now.

"Let's eat," Randy said, and the others started eating silently.

Today was the Doyle family's weekly dinner, and everyone attended. Dermot glanced around the table and sneered inwardly.

Randy had two sons. The eldest, Gerald, was considered the most likely to take over the Doyle family, and he had a son and a daughter.

Randy's second son, James Doyle, was very modest. However, that was just how it appeared. He also had a son and a daughter, who were younger than Gerald's children. James's younger daughter was still a minor.

“Dermot, how's your health? I heard you had a minor surgery.” The speaker was Jeffery, the one who had previously flirted with Evelyn. He was thoughtless but was quite arrogant.

Dermot looked at him and replied, "Yes, I am better now."

He hadn't told them about his amnesia and had been making excuses to avoid trouble.

"That's good. You should take care of your health, or someone would get complacent," He said while glancing at Otis.

Otis was Gerald's eldest son, known for his shrewdness. He was older than Dermot and had to help his father compete with Dermot for the authority of the Doyle family. Definitely, he would be annoyed with Dermot.

In his opinion, if Dermot had the right to compete for the Doyle family, so should he. So he wondered why should he help his father.

Otis glanced at Jeffery and called him an idiot inwardly, then ignored him.

But he could help but think, ’Did this guy really think it would benefit them? What a joke!'

If Dermot had took over the Doyle family, the first people he'd go after would be the main family members.

Jeffery wanted to retort but was silenced by a glance from Melissa. He was always afraid of her, so he didn't say anything, though he was quite unhappy.

Neither Randy, Gerald, nor James joined in the bickering. It was just children's play, and it would only make them look foolish to join in.

After the meal, Randy turned to ask Dermot, "When do you plan to get married to Margaret?"
