Chapter 820 Who Cares

The cops quickly defused the bomb on Eugene and another one at the door. There were no other bombs anywhere else.

Everyone soon realized Eugene was trying to scare them. The only bombs were at the main entrance and on him. If they had wanted to leave, they could have used other exits.

It was pretty annoying. When the police took Eugene away, someone couldn't help but rush up and kick him to vent their frustration.

The guests slowly lined up to leave. Evelyn didn't forget the words that had enraged Eugene and looked at Natalie.

Although no one noticed her at the time, Evelyn immediately recognized Natalie's voice. Naturally, she was now furious with Natalie.

Natalie, feeling guilty, hid behind Hubert.

Hubert's face was also very unpleasant. He knew it was Natalie who had said those words and understood the near-disastrous consequences. He had noticed Evelyn's hostile glare.

Evelyn sneered and kindly reminded Hubert, "Mr. Diaz, aren't you afraid Ms. Barns will get you killed?"

Hubert was stunned and said nothing.

"I didn't mean to," Natalie said pitifully, looking at Evelyn and then at Hubert.

"Really?" Evelyn raised an eyebrow and said disdainfully. "Who cares?"

Whether she meant it or not, she should be punished.

If Hubert didn't deal with Natalie, Evelyn would take on that role. Regardless, she wouldn't let her off the hook either.

Natalie wanted to say something, but Hubert didn't give her the chance and dragged her out of the venue.

All the guests dispersed, and Evelyn breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, nothing serious had happened.

"Dad, let's go back and rest," Evelyn said. It had been an exhausting day.

Blake nodded. He was tired, not physically but mentally. Eugene had almost ruined the Kyte family's century-old reputation.

As they reached the door, Dermot and Craig were still talking, and Ruby hurriedly rushed to Evelyn.

"Evelyn, are you okay?" She had long to go in earlier, but Craig had stubbornly refused. First, he said it was dangerous. Then he said Evelyn would be out soon, making her wait at the door for ages.

Evelyn shook her head, surprised to see her. "Didn't you go back? Why are you still here?"

"I heard something happened and was worried about you," Ruby said.

Evelyn smiled. "It's okay now. I'll have someone take you back. It's too late."

"Okay." Ruby nodded. Knowing Evelyn was fine was enough for her. She didn't want to stay here any longer, mainly because she didn't want to see Craig.

"I'll take you," Craig said, ending his conversation with Dermot and walking towards Ruby.

Ruby took a few steps back, waving her hands. "No need. I can go back by myself."

"Craig, I'll have someone take Ruby back," Evelyn said. She knew Ruby didn't want anything to do with Craig and wouldn't push her towards him.

But Craig didn't listen and continued, "Evelyn, do you know how dangerous it is for you right now? Do you know how many people are watching you?"

She wanted to argue, but Craig didn't give her the chance. "Those people can't find an opportunity to get to you, so they'll target those around you. Do you think Ruby isn't in danger?"

He pressed on, "Do you really think it is okay to have just anyone send her back? What if something happens to her?"
