Chapter 1117: Jealous to the Point of Madness

This question was a real head-scratcher, so Joshua was just sitting there, not saying a word for what felt like forever.

Just when Evelyn was about to give up on him, Joshua finally piped up, "Evelyn, sometimes liking someone is just a vibe. You can't put it into words; you can't even control it. But when that person shows up, you just know she's the one you want."

To Joshua, Evelyn was that person.

Even though Evelyn had told him how she felt back then, Joshua's memory of her had kinda faded over time. When he met Aidan, Evelyn was almost a distant memory.

But for some reason, when Aidan suggested he go back and chase after Evelyn, he didn't think twice.

And when he saw Evelyn again, he knew she was the one he'd been searching for all along.

Feelings are weird like that; even he couldn't explain it.

Evelyn listened, her mouth twitching. How could it be as magical as Joshua made it sound? If it wasn't love that grew over time, then it was just him being into her looks.

As for which category Joshua fell into, she wasn't sure yet.

"It's late; let's head back and get some rest. Remember to get up early tomorrow; I'll take you to Danista," Joshua snapped out of his thoughts, not caring that Evelyn didn't respond.

The two turned and walked back. Inside the castle, Mary saw everything.

She was almost losing her mind with jealousy.

Ever since Evelyn showed up at the castle, she hadn't had a moment alone with Joshua. Even when they were out on missions together, he'd occasionally pull out his phone to chat with Evelyn.

It made her feel like even when Evelyn wasn't around, she was still between her and Joshua.

She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down.

Just two more days, and Mary would have everything set up.

By then, she'd get Evelyn off the island and take her out in Danista, and then she'd finally be at peace.

Mary thought, 'Evelyn, just wait and see.'

In a small villa by the sea in Danista, Dermot looked at the info he'd gathered, his brow furrowed.

The situation was looking pretty bad. This was Joshua's turf. Not only could he not get on the island, but even if he did and managed to get Evelyn out, he wouldn't be able to get her out of the city.

The best plan was to do everything on the down-low, preferably getting Evelyn out before Joshua even noticed, giving them more time to escape.

But how to get Evelyn off the island?

Dermot's eyes landed on the boat that transported supplies to the island. Right now, it seemed like the only shot.

Dermot needed to study it more, making sure everything was foolproof. He was worried that if they got caught, Joshua might hurt Evelyn.

He couldn't let that happen.

A night passed, and neither Dermot nor Evelyn got much sleep.

Dermot spent the whole night brainstorming plans, while Evelyn was too excited to sleep.

As long as she got the message out today, they'd be halfway to getting out of there.

But was that salesperson really Dermot's contact?

Even though the salesperson had passed a message once, Evelyn was still a bit anxious.

But now, Evelyn had no other way to contact Dermot, so she had to take a gamble.

She got up early, carefully writing everything on a note. All she needed to do was hand the note to the salesperson without saying a word.

Evelyn thought it would be easy to pull off since Joshua didn't suspect her at all now.

Thinking of this, she carefully put away the note, hiding it in her bra.
