Chapter 749 She Is My Future Wife

The ward was crowded with people for a moment.
Blake rushed over and saw Evelyn lying unconsciously, tears welling up. He whispered, "Evelyn."
"Mr. Kyte, don't worry. Evelyn is not in any life-threatening danger," Aidan replied with respect. After all, Blake was Evelyn's father.
Ruby and Sarah also appeared personally. The news of Evelyn's accident had spread widely so they had known for a while. They didn't follow the search because they couldn't help much.
After learning about Evelyn's condition and she was not in danger, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
"Everyone, go back. I'll stay here with Evelyn. She'll be fine," Aidan said to the crowd.
Everyone nodded. Although they wanted to stay, considering Evelyn's current condition, they couldn't protect her by staying, so they had to leave.
Blake was clearly reluctant. He looked at Aidan and said, "You've been busy all night and must be tired. Go rest; I'll stay here."
"Mr. Kyte, leave it to me. If Evelyn wakes up and finds out you're here, she'll give me a hard time," Aidan said with a firm but smiling tone.
Blake wanted to say more, but Joshua spoke up at that moment, "Mr. Kyte, don't worry. With Aidan and me here, Evelyn will be fine."
"And you are?" Blake still didn't know Joshua's identity.
"Joshua Garcia, a childhood friend of Evelyn's. We grew up together," Aidan introduced.
Blake nodded, feeling a bit sad. He thought, 'Now, those who has the right to stay by Evelyn's side are her childhood friends.
If I hadn't sent Evelyn away back then and let her grow up by my side, perhaps I would have been the closest person to her now.'
But there was no point in dwelling on the past.
Blake left the hospital room, but before leaving, he assigned some people to stay. He couldn't be at ease without his own people watching over Evelyn.
After Blake left, Joshua smirked and said, "He once arrogantly left Evelyn in Tara Village, thinking it was for her good. Now he pretends to be a loving father. Hypocrite."
"Don't say that. Mr. Kyte had no choice back then," Aidan said. He could understand Blake to some extent.
Joshua didn't agree, "No choice? It was all about chasing fame and fortune. If he had given up inheriting the Kyte family and left with Evelyn, couldn't he have raised her?"
Aidan didn't respond. Joshua had a point; it was a matter of personal choice.
Perhaps Blake thought that without the Kyte family, he couldn't protect his wife and daughter better.
"Alright, you should go back. I'll stay here and take care of her," Joshua clearly didn't want to continue discussing Blake and waved Aidan off.
Aidan looked surprised and even somewhat incredulous, "You want me to leave?"
"What else? If you don't leave, when Evelyn wakes up, I won't even have a chance to say a few private words to her. How can I build our relationship?" Joshua asked with a confident smile. He was certain Aidan would agree.
Sure enough, hearing this, Aidan, though unwilling, knew it was a good opportunity for Joshua.
Aidan sighed and said, "Take good care of her. Don't let anything happen to her."
"Don't worry. She's my future wife. How could I let anything happen to her?" Joshua urged him to leave, then looked at Evelyn lying on the bed with deep affection.
Aidan remained silent.
