Chapter 1316: The Wedding
Bella was floored, her eyes welling up. "Wait, what did you just call me?"
Evelyn grinned. "Mom."
"Yes!" Bella was so stoked she almost jumped out of her skin.
She bolted upstairs to find Blake, practically bursting with excitement. "Blake, Evelyn called me Mom! She actually called me Mom!"
"I know, I heard it." Blake wrapped Bella in a hug, knowing she'd been dreaming of this moment forever.
Bella broke down in tears.
Evelyn watched them from downstairs, a small smile playing on her lips. Maybe this was the perfect ending after all.
She headed back to her room just as Dermot called, "Evelyn, I'm so pumped right now."
"Why?" Evelyn asked, puzzled. She wasn't feeling the hype, just super chill.
To her, even though she and Dermot hadn't tied the knot yet, they'd been living together forever, which was basically the same thing. Now it was just gonna be official.
"After tomorrow, you won't just be my girlfriend or my fiancée; you'll be my wife!" Dermot had been counting down to this moment for ages.
Evelyn listened, still not feeling the excitement. "Chill out. You're all hyped now, but that might not last."
Feelings can fade over time.
"No way. Marrying you will keep me on cloud nine forever," Dermot said.
Evelyn smirked, calling him a smooth talker, but deep down, she was pretty happy.
Even though Evelyn wasn't super excited, she was content.
"Evelyn, we're gonna be happy forever." Dermot was still at the wedding venue, making sure everything was perfect for the next day.
"Yeah," Evelyn replied, not saying much more.
After hanging up, Evelyn lay on her bed, tossing and turning, unable to sleep.
With a helpless smile, she realized she wasn't as calm as she thought.
The next day, the stylist and makeup artist started getting Evelyn ready at the crack of dawn.
Once Evelyn was all dolled up, she headed to the wedding venue with Blake and Bella.
