Chapter 1243: What Kind of Person Am I

The call ended, but Evelyn was still all jittery. "Ruby was way too chill just now."

Dermot heard her and felt kinda helpless. "Maybe she knows Alex will be alright."

"No way, something's off." When they couldn't reach Alex, Ruby was freaking out. But now that she knew Alex was missing, she was suddenly all calm. It was just too weird.

Dermot had gone back to the kitchen to keep cooking. He said to Evelyn, "Don't stress. Let's eat first, then hit up the police station."

"Alright," Evelyn agreed. She figured they should go and ask around too.

Meanwhile, Ruby put away her phone, a bitter smile on her lips.

She got up and left the house, soon arriving at the door of a fancy villa.

She stepped up and knocked.

A servant opened the door, looking puzzled. "Who are you looking for?"

"Is Craig here?" Ruby asked, her tone eerily calm.

The servant frowned. "Do you have an appointment?"

Ruby shook her head. "Just tell him I’m Ruby."

The servant, though puzzled, didn't want to risk offending her and went inside to report.

Soon, the servant came back, now all smiles. "Ms. Kite, please come in. Mr. Irvine is waiting for you in the living room."

Ruby walked in, ignoring the servant's gaze, and headed straight to the living room.

In the living room, Craig was sitting in a chair. When he saw her come in, a flash of excitement crossed his eyes, but he quickly hid it. "What? Regretting it?"

Ruby didn't say a word. She walked straight to Craig and stood in front of him.

"Getting back with me won't be that easy. Let me tell you..."

Craig didn't finish his sentence, looking at Ruby in disbelief.

She actually dared to hit him!

"Ruby!" The next second, Craig was furious. He grabbed Ruby by the neck and pinned her against the wall.

Ruby didn't beg for mercy. She looked at him coldly. "Where did you take Alex?"

Craig, already fuming, got even angrier. "You came here looking for him? Have you lost your mind, Ruby?"

"Craig, I know you're pissed, but that's between you and me. It has nothing to do with Alex. Let him go, and I'll agree to whatever you want." Ruby spoke calmly, without a trace of anger.

Craig frowned, quickly piecing together the truth from Ruby's few words.

"Why do you think his disappearance has anything to do with me?" Craig was angry and a bit hurt.

He had threatened to go after Alex, but he hadn't actually done anything yet.

However, even if he didn't do anything, Ruby would still think it was him when something happened to Alex.

Ruby sneered with disdain. "If it wasn't you, then who? Craig, must I really spell out the type of person you are?"

"And what type of person am I?" Craig laughed.

"Go ahead, tell me."

Ruby eyed him scornfully, her lips curling slightly. "Arrogant, cold-blooded, despicable."

Every word dripped with scorn, making Ruby's contempt for him crystal clear.

Craig laughed too.

He knew Ruby no longer liked him, but he didn't expect that she hated him so much.

Craig thought, 'Ruby, you really know how to hurt me.'

"Where is Alex?" Ruby asked again. She was only worried about Alex's safety now.

Craig didn't bother to defend himself. He never cared to do so. "You care about him that much? Have you fallen in love with him?"
