Chapter 1294: How Do You Plan to Solve It
In the next few days, Evelyn swung by the hospital to check on Niall before heading to work. But most of the time, she didn't even need to pop in 'cause Lily was always there, glued to his side. She figured her showing up would just mess with their vibe.
Niall's injuries were almost good as new soon enough. He tracked down Evelyn and asked her what the game plan was for dealing with Lily's parents. He'd already caught wind that the Doyle and Kyte families were ganging up on the Diaz family, using the club's recent mess as ammo to take them down.
The Diaz family, already knee-deep in shady stuff, couldn't handle the heat from both families and were on the brink of falling apart.
Niall wasn't sweating the Diaz family. His main worry was how to handle Lily's folks.
If they didn't play this right, Lily would be stuck in a never-ending drama.
He wasn't scared of drama, but he knew Lily didn't want to drag him into it.
If they botched this, neither of them would be happy.
After hearing Niall's worries, Evelyn went quiet for a sec before saying, "Don't sweat it. I'll handle it."
"What's your plan?" Niall asked, almost out of habit.
"They wanna sell their daughter? Fine, let's give 'em what they want. Lily's done with them. They shouldn't come sniffing around her anymore." She planned to take some muscle to give Lily's parents a little scare. She figured they'd back off.
Of course, Evelyn had to think through how to spook them just right.
Niall was a bit uneasy. "Will that work? I mean, they are her parents. We can't go too hard on them."
If they weren't Lily's parents, Niall wouldn't be so torn.
"Niall, chill. Trust me, I got this." Evelyn waved it off like it was no big deal. "Head back to your room. You're outta here in two days."
"Yeah, and once I'm out, I wanna marry Lily ASAP," Niall blurted out.
Evelyn was caught off guard but quickly got it. "That's your call, but you should ask Lily first."
"She'll say yes," Niall said, full of confidence.
Evelyn smiled. She had a hunch Lily had a lot on her plate and might not be on board.
But it was their deal, so she kept her mouth shut.
After Niall left her office, Evelyn whipped out her phone and called Jennifer, "Grab a few people and meet me."
"Where we headed?" Jennifer asked on the other end.
"Got some business to handle. Won't take long." Evelyn figured Lily's parents would be a piece of cake.
Jennifer was down. Evelyn didn't bounce right away. She finished her rounds, then headed out to meet Jennifer, who was already waiting at the entrance.
She decided to handle Lily's parents without looping in Dermot, 'cause he was swamped dealing with the Diaz family.
Meanwhile, it seemed like Aidan hadn't shown up to see Niall since their last chat, like he was really done with him.
Evelyn could only shake her head at that.
"Let's roll," Evelyn said, hopping into the passenger seat.
Jennifer drove carefully to the address Evelyn gave her.
Another car tailed them, probably with the backup Jennifer had brought along.
Jennifer didn't ask why Evelyn needed the extra hands. She trusted her completely and would do whatever she said, no questions asked.
