Chapter 910 He is Truly My Good Subordinate

Dermot pondered for a moment, seemingly thinking about how to put it. After a bit, Evelyn finally heard him say, "It's just a regular relationship. You know how things are between Luke and me; we're never going to be close."

Even though Benjamin was still in a coma in the hospital, and they seemed to have no direct conflicts, both he and Luke knew there were too many grudges between them, making it impossible for them to ever truly become friends.

"True, but why did he tell you?" Evelyn asked, puzzled.

"Maybe he doesn't want you with Joshua." Dermot was surprised when he got the message from Luke but didn't question it; he just thanked him and moved on.

Evelyn was speechless; that reason left her at a loss for words.

But she then realized that it was possible.

If Luke and Dermot had a decent relationship, it would make sense for him not to want her with Joshua. After all, he and Dermot were half-brothers.

She didn't ask more and headed to the elevator, soon arriving at her door.

She had someone clean up the place yesterday so she could move in today. She didn't delay moving in.

"You can go now." At the door, Evelyn saw Dermot wasn't leaving, so she spoke up.

Dermot smirked, then turned and opened the door to the apartment across from hers.

Evelyn was stunned.

It took her a moment to react. "You live here?"

"Yeah." Dermot nodded. "What a coincidence! We're neighbors again."

Coincidence?

Evelyn didn't know what to say. It was clear Dermot bought the apartment after finding out she was moving here. Did he think she was that naive?

"Want to come in and sit for a while?" Evelyn didn't invite him, but he took the initiative.

Evelyn waved her hand, "No, maybe next time."

She didn't think there was much to see, probably similar to her place. After all, they both just bought their apartments, and the decor was likely from the previous owners.

"Come on. I'll mix you a drink. It'll help you sleep better tonight," Dermot said, already opening the door.

In the end, Evelyn couldn't resist and walked into Dermot's apartment.

She was curious since she had never seen Dermot mix a drink.

She knew Dermot could cook, and his cooking was great. She didn't expect him to know how to mix drinks too.

As soon as Evelyn stepped into the living room, she noticed the decor was very different from hers. It was a high-end light luxury style, not like a second-hand apartment.

The decor was clearly Dermot's taste. Evelyn found it odd. She thought, 'How did he find an apartment with such fitting decor? Why didn't I have such luck?'

As she was thinking, she saw Dermot walking towards the nearby bar and starting to mix a drink. All the materials were readily available. Clearly, he often mixed drinks.

"You didn't just move in today," Evelyn concluded.

Dermot nodded "Yeah, I've been here for a while, which is why I said it's quite a coincidence."

The apartment's decor was designed by someone he hired, naturally different from Evelyn's.

"I don't know about coincidence, but I do know Luke is a good subordinate of mine." She was sure that Luke was the mastermind behind such a coincidence.

Just now, she thought Dermot chose to live in this area because she had bought a new apartment here.

Now it seemed Dermot had been living here for a long time, which was why Luke chose this apartment for her.
