Chapter 795 Margaret Was Insanely Jealous
Margaret spoke frankly since she had already thought of what to say before coming.
Given that Dermot indeed had psychological issues before, as long as that fact remained, whatever she said would be credible.
Dermot understood it, too. Even before he lost his memory, he had already noticed his unusual feelings for Evelyn. So he sought out Margaret, fearing things would spiral out of control.
He just didn't expect that he would lose his memory later; everything had gone beyond his expectations.
"I don't want to argue with you about these things, but there's one thing I need to make clear: we are just in a cooperative relationship now. I'm not interested in you, so don't put your mind on me," Dermot said as he looked at her, much colder than before.
No matter what Margaret said, he had no good feelings towards her.
But he still needed her help, and he couldn't give up the support of the Martin family just yet.
Upon hearing this, Margaret didn't get angry. Dermot didn't mention breaking up. She considered it good news. "Alright, I understand what you mean. Our goal is mutual cooperation and benefit, and I am very clear on that."
"Let's eat first, and we'll talk about other things later." Margaret smiled at him and didn't continue the topic.
In the following days, even though Evelyn and Dermot were both in the hospital, they didn't see each other. They acted as if they didn't know each other at all.
A week later, Dermot was ready to be discharged. Blake had also fully recovered, but perhaps due to his age, he seemed noticeably more fatigued after the injury.
“Dermot, while Mr. Kyte was hospitalized, other families came to visit him. Shouldn't we go see him?” Margaret asked while packing Dermot's things.
Dermot walked over, took his things from her hands, and said, "Sure."
"Alright, let's visit Mr. Kyte first, and then we'll handle the discharge paperwork." Margaret wasn't angry, knowing Dermot wanted to draw a clear line between them.
Dermot nodded. The two walked out of the room and headed upstairs to Blake's room.
Today was also Blake's discharge day. Evelyn had already completed the discharge procedures early in the morning and was preparing to leave, so she was a bit surprised when Dermot and Margaret arrived.
"Mr. Kyte, Ms. Kyte," Margaret spoke first, "Sorry for visiting so late. Dermot's health has just improved, so we came a bit late."
"Ms. Martin, no need to be so formal," Blake replied politely. He had no particular feelings towards these two, only looking at Dermot a bit more because of his past relationship with Evelyn.
Dermot also exchanged pleasantries with Blake, but his eyes couldn't help but wander to Evelyn.
After some time apart, Evelyn seemed thinner, perhaps from worrying about her father. She looked a bit fatigued.
Dermot felt concerned but didn't ask.
Sensing Dermot's gaze, Evelyn turned her head and met his eyes. She paused for a moment, then just smiled faintly and nodded, polite yet distant, causing a pang in Dermot's heart.
"Since Mr. Kyte is being discharged, we won't disturb you any longer. I need to handle Dermot's discharge as well," After a few polite exchanges with Blake, Margaret planned to leave. She wasn't blind to the subtle interactions between Dermot and Evelyn, and it made her insanely jealous.
Indeed, as soon as Dermot regained his memory, his eyes and heart were filled only with Evelyn.
