Chapter 469 Why Bother Asking Me?

"Grandfather." Evelyn called out.

Benjamin continued to ignore Evelyn and Evelyn couldn't be bothered with him either. She directly looked at Grandpa Doyle sitting there and walked over to him with a smile on her face.

Grandpa Doyle nodded with a smile and said, "Evelyn, it's been a long time since you last visited your grandfather."

"Grandfather, you know I have been busy. Please don't be mad at me," Evelyn also smiled.

The two got along very well and if someone didn't know the truth, they would think that Evelyn was still his dearest daughter-in-law.

"Grandfather knows and I won't be mad at you," Grandpa Doyle wasn't foolish. He knew why Evelyn hadn't been coming to Doyle Mansion and he understood it better than anyone else.

While the two were talking, Benjamin and Dermot were sitting in the living room, not saying a word either way, just listening to the conversation about Marina.

"Grandfather, shall we go to the study and talk?" After exchanging pleasantries, Evelyn was ready to get to the point. She had a purpose for coming today.

Grandpa Doyle was slightly surprised but didn't refuse, "Alright."

He stood up and looked at Dermot and Benjamin sitting there with cold expressions and said, "Both of you, go to the kitchen and instruct them to prepare some dishes that Evelyn likes to eat."

"Sure, Grandfather, I will take care of it," Dermot nodded, as he got up and headed towards the kitchen.

Grandpa didn't know what Evelyn wanted to talk to him about, but he had some speculations. However, he just didn't know if Evelyn would be able to get the answers she wanted this time.

Inside the study, Grandpa Doyle walked in, followed by Evelyn, who closed the door behind them.
Grandpa Doyle sat down on the sofa and smiled at Evelyn, "Please have a seat, Evelyn."
Evelyn didn't hesitate and took a seat across from Grandpa Doyle.

"Grandfather, I think you can guess why I'm here, right?" Evelyn asked politely.

"Well, I can guess some of it," Grandpa Doyle didn't deny it.

"Then why don't you just tell me," Evelyn smiled at him, waiting for Grandpa Doyle to speak.

Unfortunately, Grandpa Doyle did not intend to tell her anything. He said, "Tell you what? Evelyn, I have no idea what you're talking about."

Evelyn: …

You really know how to play dumb. Evelyn thought to herself, caught off guard by his response.

"Grandpa, a few days ago, I went to Colombia," Evelyn looked at him and spoke lightly.

Grandpa Doyle remained silent, not saying a word, but his heart was far from the calmness his face showed.

"I met Mr. Hamilton and talked to him about some things," Evelyn continued, her gaze fixed on Grandpa Doyle's face, not wanting to miss any of his reactions.

Grandpa Doyle gave a faint smile and asked, "I heard he was hospitalized. Is he doing okay?"

"Not really," Evelyn replied truthfully.

"That's a pity," Grandpa Doyle said, but there was no trace of regret on his face.

Evelyn didn't care about that and continued,

"I went to see Mr. Hamilton mainly to ask about my origins. Actually, I've known for a while that there was something wrong with my background, but I didn't have any clues until Greg appeared. He became a breakthrough for me."

"Mr. Hamilton said that if I followed Greg to Colombia to find him, he would tell me everything. He kept his word, and I found out everything I wanted to know," Evelyn said.

Grandpa Doyle looked surprised, as if he didn't believe it.

"In fact, I am not from Tara Village, nor am I your grandson's biological child. I am the daughter of a prominent family in Colombia, right?" She smiled at her grandfather, looking as if she already knew everything.

Upon hearing her speak, Grandpa Doyle was genuinely astonished. Did she really know everything? Did she discover her true identity? Grandpa Doyle’s face faltered slightly at these thoughts.

The truth was, Evelyn was just speculating based on the reactions of Greg and others toward her at that time. After all, if she could captivate Greg's heart, her background was destined to be not as simple as it appeared.

Now it seemed that her speculation was correct. But which family was it exactly? And what happened back then?

"Since you already know everything, why bother asking me?" Grandpa Doyle sighed, not looking at Evelyn anymore.
