Chapter 336 Infinite Imagination
On the opening day, Evelyn would certainly invite journalists to better promote Evelyna Fashion. However, as Dermot mentioned, it was difficult to guarantee that there wouldn't be curious reporters. In that case, should she admit their relationship or deny it?
Dermot was still waiting for Evelyn's answer, and his intense gaze made Evelyn feel somewhat guilty.
"What do you want me to say?" She threw the question back at Dermot.
He chuckled lightly, "Of course, I hope you would directly say that I am your boyfriend."
"Are you sure you want to make it public?" Evelyn was surprised. She thought someone like Dermot, with his background, would treat relationships with caution and not go public until marriage.
Dermot nodded without any hesitation, "Why not? I am happy to let everyone know about our relationship."
He spoke candidly, which made Evelyn blush instead.
"But I feel like this is something between the two of us and doesn't need to be known by others," Evelyn hesitated and expressed her true feelings.
Because of her divorce from Dermot, she was already labeled as his ex-wife. If she were to be with him now, the label would simply change to Dermot's girlfriend.
She didn't want that.
"So you don't want it to be public?" Dermot looked at her, feeling indescribably uncomfortable.
Evelyn looked apologetic as she hurriedly explained, "Please don't misunderstand. I just think it's unnecessary for everyone to know about our relationship. Moreover, in that kind of setting, if I were to make it public, everyone would probably think I only established Evelyna Fashion because of you."
Although they were boyfriend and girlfriend, she still believed in maintaining some separation.
She made a valid point, and initially, Dermot didn't plan on going public in that setting either.
But now that he heard Evelyn's distance, he couldn't help but feel uneasy.
He forced a smile and said,
Shaking her head, "It's okay, I understand," Evelyn said.
"You're not angry, right?" Evelyn looked at the man in front of her and could clearly feel the change in his demeanor.
Dermot looked up at her and said, "Don't worry, I'm not that petty."
"Oh, that's good then," Evelyn breathed a sigh of relief and continued eating her porridge without saying anything else.
Dermot looked at her, shook his head helplessly, and found himself unable to deal with this woman.
After breakfast, they both went back to their respective busy schedules. In normal circumstances, they would only contact each other in the evening when they finished work.
Evelyn thought this was good. She liked being busy when she had to, and when they were together, she didn't think about work.
There were no surgeries today, so after checking the patients' rooms in the morning, Evelyn had more free time. She stayed in the office, looking at some documents, and occasionally browsing the internet.
Surprisingly, today's news had something that made her quite happy.
Since her conversation with Lauren, Evelyn had given her the information and hadn't contacted her since. But from the current situation, it seemed that Lauren was indeed capable.
In the news, it was announced that Lauren had to disclose her stake in the Stanley Group because it exceeded five percent. Now, everyone knew about the changes in the internal shares of the Stanley Group, sparking discussions everywhere.
Lauren, who used to go unnoticed, suddenly emerged and held such a large stake. It was only natural for people to wonder.
What was even more surprising was that Lauren almost immediately accepted an interview, publicly acknowledging herself as a member of the Stanley family. When asked if she had any intention to contend for the inheritor of the Stanley Group, Lauren simply smiled at the camera without answering. But that smile left much to the imagination.
