Chapter 223 She Already Knows

Of course, he would help his good friend hide it, Evelyn thought to herself.

Now recalling the phone call, she had with Dermot that day, there was something weird in his tone. At the time, she didn't notice. But thinking back now, it was full of loopholes.

No wonder Dermot hadn't come to see her these past few days, and they even talked few. Perhaps he was afraid she would find something.

In that instant, Evelyn felt complicated and short of breath.

Evelyn stood up and walked towards the room. "I am going to make a phone call,” she said.

Aidan didn't ask any further questions, as he guessed that Evelyn was calling Dermot. He was happy to see it happen, as he didn't believe that Dermot didn't know about the situation, and Evelyn couldn't possibly believe it either.

On the balcony, Evelyn took a deep breath and then called Dermot.

“Evelyn?” Dermot's voice came through the phone, sounding surprised that Evelyn was calling him. Evelyn didn't speak; she found herself at a loss for words.

Asking him for answers? She had no relationship with Dermot, and what was wrong with him helping Craig?

“Evelyn? Is there any news about Ruby Kite?” Dermot asked, concerned that he hadn't missed her words.

Hearing him mention Ruby Kite, Evelyn's expression slightly changed. "Not yet, do you have any?”

”No,” replied Dermot.

"What about Craig?" Evelyn asked.

Dermot hesitated, then said, "Probably not either. If there was any news, he would have contacted me."

Evelyn felt disappointed.

"You and him... are good friends, aren’t you?" Evelyn suddenly asked. Dermot said they were good, but it seemed like something was off.

"What's wrong?" Dermot asked.

"Nothing. It's just surprising that he can't find someone in Moris City," she smiled, but if Dermot were there, he would have noticed that her smile was quite irony.

Dermot remained silent. He even had the urge to tell Evelyn the truth, but as soon as he thought of Craig... he forcefully suppressed himself.

"Don't worry. Ruby Kite will definitely be fine. Maybe she'll be back in a couple of days," he had already agreed with Craig. At most, another two days, he had to let her go.

Evelyn chuckled softly, "Really? Are you that certain?"

"Yes, trust me. Everything will be fine," Dermot said, unaware that Evelyn already knew everything, thinking that his words could comfort her.

Evelyn hung up the phone, her face cold. She turned around and went back into the room.

"Aidan, gather everyone. We're going to pick up Ruby," she said, her voice cold and devoid of any extra emotions. But Aidan knew she was angry, very angry.

"Alright," Aidan nodded, then took out his phone to make a call.

After hanging up, he was a bit worried, "What if Craig doesn't hand over Ruby? It's his territory, it would be difficult for us to rush in." Moreover, they were all law-abiding citizens, while Craig was not. If there is a conflict, they would be the ones at a disadvantage.

"He will," Evelyn said with a stern face, turning around and walking to the computer. She printed a few copies of the documents and took them with.

Seeing this, Aidan did not ask any further questions. Since Evelyn said so, she must have complete confidence.

They hurried to Craig's villa with the people they brought, and Dermot, after hanging up the phone, noticed Evelyn's unusual attitude.

"She already knows," Dermot concluded, then got up and left the office.
