Chapter 355 You Always Grow Up
As Lauren said this, the hall fell into complete silence.
Seeing this scene, Lauren sneered without surprise, "So, why can't I have what you all want? After all, I am also a member of the Stanley family."
"Lauren, what are you trying to do? I've never heard you talk about this before. Why did it suddenly come up now?" Mr. Stanley looked at his unfamiliar daughter in front of him and questioned coldly, feeling that something was slipping out of his control.
Faced with her father's questioning, Lauren wasn't angry. "Before, I didn't think I had the ability and dared not fight, but now..."
Her gaze swept past Oliver, then landed on Natalie's head. "I'm afraid if I don't fight for it, the Stanley family will eventually become the Barnes family."
This time, Natalie couldn't stay out of it.
She looked at Lauren with a smile, the sister-in-law she had never paid much attention to since marrying into the family. She never expected that one day Lauren would become her obstacle.
"What do you mean by that? Aren't you deliberately trying to provoke a conflict between me and Oliver?" Natalie looked aggrieved, tears about to fall.
Lauren didn't fall for it, but Oliver couldn't bear it and said, "I call you sister, but don't go too far! Do you really think of yourself as the Lady of the Stanley family?"
Oliver grew up being spoiled and never really respected his sister.
"So, in your eyes, I'm not even considered a member of the Stanley family?" It would be a lie to say that she wasn't hurt. After all, she had treated her younger brother sincerely when they were children, but never expected it to come to this today.
Oliver coldly snorted and protected Natalie in his arms. "Since the day Dad kicked you out of the Stanley family, you ceased to be a member."
The Anley family doesn't have the qualification to inherit the Stanley family," Mr. Stanley stated.
"Do you also agree with what he said, Dad?" Lauren didn't argue with Oliver but looked at Mr. Stanley, waiting for his response.
Actually, she didn't come here today seeking approval, but rather to see just how shameless this family could be.
Mr. Stanley remained composed and though his words weren't as harsh as Oliver's, they still weren't pleasant to hear. "Lauren, you're a young girl, and you'll get married one day. It's inappropriate for you to fight over these matters."
"I understand," Lauren nodded, completely giving up.
"As long as you understand..."
"Whether or not you're part of the Stanley family, it won't stop me from dealing with you all mercilessly," she interrupted her father, smiling with a self-satisfied expression on her beautiful face.
Mr. Stanley was taken aback, not only him, but also Oliver and Natalie beside him were surprised.
Mr. Stanley's face visibly turned ugly, of course he understood the meaning behind Lauren's words. "So, it seems you really want to take over the Stanley Group?"
"This isn't taking over, it's simply the capable taking charge," she replied with a smile, completely disregarding Mr. Stanley's unpleasant expression.
She was no longer young, and she wouldn't be intimidated by a few threats from Mr. Stanley.
People always grow up.
Oliver furiously exclaimed, "Lauren!"
"What's wrong?" Lauren turned her head to look at him, mocking him unscrupulously. "Besides being loud, do you have any other use?"
"Oliver, calm down," Natalie held him back, feeling somewhat disapproving herself.
If it weren't for the fact that she also wanted the Stanley Group, she would actually admire Lauren.
What she hated the most were parents who favored sons over daughters, coupled with Oliver's incompetence, just like her deceased brother Kenny. Natalie felt that Lauren was basically her mirror image.
The only regret was that she didn't compete for the family's assets like Lauren was doing now.
