Chapter 1027: Do You Think We Are a Good Match

The room got quiet. Lydia suddenly smiled and pointed outside, "How about I treat you to some coffee? Let's sit and chat."

Evelyn glanced at Ruby, who looked confused but not against it. "Sure," Ruby agreed.

Lydia paid for the dress she tried on, and the three of them left the store, heading to the coffee shop downstairs.

After ordering, Lydia continued, "Honestly, I know he still has feelings for you, but that doesn't bother me. It just shows he's dedicated, and that's admirable."

When she mentioned Craig, her eyes lit up. Ruby watched, feeling a mix of emotions. She once thought being with Craig would make her happy. But when he refused to go public with their relationship and never considered marriage, things changed. Their relationship couldn't go back to what it was.

Even now, though Craig swore he'd go public and marry her, Ruby no longer cared.

She was completely disillusioned and had no hope left.

Ruby thought Lydia and Craig were well-matched in terms of family background and other aspects. If they were together, it should be a good fit.

"You like him so much, but do you really know him?" Evelyn thought Lydia was nice. Although Lydia had been a bit arrogant before, she didn't seem to have bad intentions.

So, she felt it was necessary to let Lydia know what kind of person Craig was.

Lydia shook her head and smiled bitterly. "I don't know him because he doesn't give me the chance."

She had confessed her feelings to Craig, but he had ruthlessly rejected her, not giving her any chance at all.

"Do you know why Ruby broke up with him?" Evelyn asked.

Lydia shook her head again. "I looked into it, but I couldn't find out."

It was hard enough for her to find out about Craig and Ruby's relationship. As for why they broke up, she really couldn't find out.

"Because he wasn't willing to make their relationship public and said he wouldn't marry her. If it were you, could you accept that?" Evelyn sneered, getting angry just thinking about it.

What did Craig take Ruby for? Did he really think he was that great?

Lydia hadn't expected this, so after hearing Evelyn's words, she was stunned for a while before reacting. "How is that possible? He clearly..."

"He now acts all dedicated because Ruby left him without hesitation. If she were still by his side, he still wouldn't cherish her," Evelyn said confidently.

Lydia fell silent.

Ruby felt a bit sorry for her and kindly said, "Actually, he's not that bad. It's just that we weren't meant to be. In terms of family background and other aspects, we weren't a good match. But you're different; you're a good match for him."

Lydia's eyes instantly lit up. "Really? You think we're a good match?"

"Yes." Ruby nodded.

Lydia smiled happily, while Evelyn was speechless.

Evelyn thought, 'Did everything I just say go in one ear and out the other?'

As if reading her mind, Lydia said, "I get what you mean, but I also understand Craig. He doesn't really understand his own feelings, so he doesn't know how to cherish others. Or rather, he doesn't know how to love someone."

Lydia added, "But now he regrets it. He knows how to love, but some things can't be undone." As she spoke, Lydia felt a bit sorry for him.
