Chapter 1025: Who Do You Think You Are

As soon as they hit the mall, Ruby went straight into shopping mode.

Even though the Kite Group wasn't as big as Evelyn's Kyte Group, they were still doing well, so Ruby never felt bad about spending money.

After grabbing some clothes for herself, Ruby picked out a few things for her parents and then turned to Evelyn. "See anything you like? I'll get it for you."

"Really?" Evelyn smiled, glancing around but not spotting anything she wanted.

"We're such good friends, buying a few clothes is no big deal. I'd even give myself to you if you wanted." Ruby winked, making Evelyn laugh.

Evelyn joked, "Oh please, I don't want you."

"I see. Ms. Kyte, you have someone else in mind." Ruby teased, "The new year is coming, and you and Dermot haven't made any progress. I'm really worried."

"Why are you worried? It's none of your business." Evelyn rolled her eyes, walking into a clothing store with Ruby.

Ruby said, "Of course it matters. You're my best friend, and I want you to be happy."

As they chatted, Ruby spotted a dress. "Could you bring me that dress? I want to try it on," she asked the salesperson.

Just as the salesperson was about to get it, someone else stepped in. "This dress looks nice. I'll try it on," the newcomer said, heading to the fitting room and ignoring Ruby.

The salesperson looked embarrassed but, seeing Ruby didn't make a fuss, stepped aside.

Ruby frowned, her eyes narrowing as she glanced toward the fitting room. "What a small world," she muttered.

Noticing Ruby's reaction, Evelyn asked, "What's wrong? Do you know her?"

"I don't know her, but I've seen her before." Ruby said, turning to Evelyn. "Remember I told you I saw Craig shopping with a woman? It's her."

"Really? It's her?" Evelyn was surprised. She hadn't paid much attention to the girl earlier, thinking she was just some spoiled rich kid, which would explain her attitude.

"Yes." Ruby nodded, suddenly losing interest in shopping.

Seeing this, Evelyn was puzzled. "Didn't you say you don't like Craig anymore? Why are you reacting like this?"

"I just feel unlucky. Golombia is so big, yet I still ran into her." Her good mood was ruined.

Ruby wanted to leave, but Evelyn pulled her back. "What's the rush? I haven't picked out my clothes yet."

"You..." Ruby was speechless, wondering what Evelyn was up to.

Soon, Lydia Griffin came out after trying on the dress. Evelyn glanced at her; she was pretty but not stunning.

Sensing Evelyn's gaze, Lydia snapped, "What are you staring at? Look again, and I'll poke your eyes out!"

Evelyn stayed silent, thinking, 'So fierce. Better not mess with her.'

Ruby, visibly annoyed, retorted, "Why are you so aggressive? Who do you think you are?" She hadn't planned on engaging with Lydia, but she couldn't let the rudeness slide.

Lydia was stunned by Ruby's outburst, looking at her in surprise. "You dare talk to me like that?"

After all, she was from the Griffin family and had never encountered someone so rude to her. She was immediately displeased. "Do you know who I am? If you anger me, I'll make sure you can't stay in Golombia!"

Evelyn couldn't help but laugh. It had been a long time since she met someone so bold. "Do you know who I am?"

"Who cares who you are?" Lydia rolled her eyes. It seemed that during her years away from Golombia, rude people had become more common.

"You just took my friend's dress." Evelyn reminded her. Ruby had clearly reached for it first, but Lydia had snatched it.

Lydia sneered, "Took it from her? Did she pay for it?"
