Chapter 1013 Joseph, Take Good Care of Yourself

"Let Gerald handle it," Marcus said flatly.

"Will Gerald agree?" Larry looked helpless. "Even if we sacrifice Savannah, the March family won't want to provoke the Dixon and Jude families."

"I've got plenty of dirt on the March family. We can threaten them and offer some benefits," Marcus replied.

He paused, then shot Felix a cold glare. "Don't think it's that simple. We can pin everything on Savannah, but the Dixon and Jude families aren't fools; they'll suspect us."

"So, what do we do?" Felix's face went pale.

"Offer them benefits," Marcus said, rubbing his fingers. "Start with the Dixon family. Money talks."

"I see, Marcus. You're really something," Felix said, admiringly.

Marcus remained indifferent. "Measure twice, cut once. If you get yourself killed, fine, but don't drag the Chamberlain family down with you."

Felix looked embarrassed but had to admit his recklessness. "I'm sorry."

"Joseph's skills are better than top agents. Your little tricks won't cut it. Killing him is just a dream." Marcus glared at him. "Get out."

After Felix slunk out, Larry said worriedly, "Will Joseph use this chance to get close to the Dixon family? We can't let that happen."

"Have someone keep an eye on Joseph at all times," Marcus replied.

After a night in the hospital, Joseph went straight to the Hernandez Group.

When Mabel heard he was there, she immediately came over to scold him, "Go home and rest. I don't want you dropping dead here; I don't want to be left alone in my old age."

Joseph raised an eyebrow, sensing the concern beneath her harsh tone. "I'll make sure you're taken care of. Don't worry."

Mabel raised an eyebrow, sensing something different about him.

Lately, Joseph had been coming to the office every day but doing little, looking defeated.

Could his brush with death last night have actually revitalized him?

"What exactly happened last night?" Mabel's eyes softened as she thought about it. "There's no reason for a perfectly good elevator to suddenly malfunction. Was someone trying to harm Marigold, or was it aimed at you?"

"Beats me. Let's wait for the police to investigate," Joseph said flatly.

"Was it the Chamberlain family trying to harm you? I heard they and the March family were targeting you at the banquet," Mabel asked.

"There is no evidence," Joseph interrupted her.

Mabel's face turned grim, showing a kind of hopeless hatred.

Joseph's answer suggested it was likely the Chamberlain family who orchestrated it.

Mabel was confused. The Chamberlain family was already the top family in Madison, the Hernandez family was on the brink of collapse, she had been abandoned, and she had already lost Liam. Why wouldn't the Chamberlain family leave her alone?

What had she done wrong to make the Chamberlain family repeatedly target those around her?

"Don't overthink it," Joseph said, noticing her expression. "This has nothing to do with you. The Chamberlain family is narrow-minded, and Felix has held a grudge ever since I mocked him last time."

Mabel was shocked. "Just because you mocked him, he wants to kill you?"

"Don't underestimate the Chamberlain family's ruthlessness. They have no humanity left," Joseph warned. "You don't need to go to Marcus."

"What do you mean?" Mabel was confused, feeling like he knew something.

"If the Chamberlain family did this, they'll push Savannah out as a scapegoat to protect Felix. Savannah is Evelyn's sister, and Evelyn had a child with Marcus. But sacrificing the March family is something he would do. There will be news soon," Joseph explained.

Mabel shivered, realizing now that Marcus was even more terrifying than she had imagined.

"I'll be meeting with the chairman of the Garrison Group this afternoon," Joseph said.

"Alright," Mabel said, walking to the door. She turned back with a complex expression and advised. "Joseph, take good care of yourself. I cannot bear to lose you."

As he watched her desolate figure, Joseph was reminded of a photo on his phone.

It was from Walter's birthday a few years ago, a family photo of the Hernandez family, and the only photo he had with Liam.

In fact, he hadn't dared to tell Mabel that he suspected Liam's disappearance was related to Marcus.

Wyatt's departure made him suspect there was a mole within Dragon.

If the Hernandez family's chip data was taken by an insider, then Liam might truly be innocent. Liam hadn't betrayed the Hernandez family, which was why Marcus abandoned him.

Previously, Joseph might have thought Liam was Marcus's biological son, but after yesterday, he realized the Chamberlain family's ruthlessness was beyond his expectations.

He hoped Liam was still alive.

"Mr. Hernandez, Ms. Dixon is here," Nathaniel suddenly said as he entered.

Joseph furrowed his brows and, after a moment, said, "Let her in."

Soon, Marigold appeared at the door in a purple dress, wearing a single butterfly-shaped diamond earring, her face adorned with beautiful makeup, exuding a unique and sensual charm.

"Joseph, I came specifically to thank you. These are your clothes. Thank you for lending them to me last night. I had them cleaned," Marigold said, handing over the bag.

Joseph didn't move, but Nathaniel quickly took it.

"Thank you for bringing them," Joseph said coolly.

Marigold looked at Joseph sitting in the leather chair. It was clear he hadn't rested well last night, but it didn't diminish the noble aura he exuded.

He wore a black shirt, which made him look even more cold and handsome. The shirt collar wasn't fully buttoned, revealing his delicate Adam's apple and sexy collarbone.

Marigold had grown up abroad and had seen many prominent figures.

However, no man had ever been like Joseph, exuding such a powerful presence that even a glance could make her blush.

She was determined to pursueJoseph.

In that moment, Marigold made up her mind and smiled more seductively. "Returning your belongings is the least I could do. Do you have time for lunch? I know a great restaurant."

She believed that given Joseph's current downfall, he wouldn't refuse her.

But Joseph just glanced at her and said, "Sorry, I have to work through lunch."

"Then how about dinner?"
