Joseph didn't mean to scare her on purpose, but just the thought of Cassie marrying Liam made an involuntary chill run down his spine.
"Sophia, I'm sorry," he quickly apologized in a low voice, "it's just that you're still young; there are some things you don't understand; Cassie can't marry Liam."
"Why? I don't get it." Sophia pretended not to understand. "Liam isn't married, Cassie isn't married, they are a good match."
"Where are they a good match?" Joseph gritted his teeth, completely disagreeing, "Because Cassie is my ex-wife, if she marries Liam, it would be chaotic, Walter and Matilda wouldn't approve."
"I see." Sophia thought seriously for a moment, "Then how about you marry Cassie? That way, Cassie would also become my family."
As soon as she finished speaking, an eerie silence fell over the living room.

"No," she said softly, "we were married before, but we divorced because it didn't work out, and Joseph is about to get married soon. He will have a beloved wife; you have to accept that."
"Okay, I remember now; it's the aunt from this morning." Sophia suddenly glanced at Joseph. "You're so pitiful. Your future wife's cooking isn't tasty. Unlike me, I want to eat delicious food in the future. I can always come to Cassie for that."
Joseph felt like he was being roasted by Sophia again, and it made him really uncomfortable. He hadn't thought about it before, but after today, he found that he preferred the way he interacted with Cassie.
The two of them, with a child, leisurely strolling in the supermarket, eating tasty meals cooked by his wife as a family of three, occasionally going to the amusement park, wasn't that nice too?

"Alright, you should go back. I've already called Liam; he'll come to pick up Sophia in a while." Cassie began to give orders, "I've worked hard to renovate this house; I don't want anyone from the Zenith Family to know you're here; Nathan might send people to destroy it."
Joseph said sadly, "No need. I'll take Sophia with me. You have no idea how to take care of a child, and I can't trust you with our little one from the Hernandez family."
"I can't take care of her?" Cassie said as if she heard a joke.
She had raised two children on her own until now, and he had no idea how difficult it was.
"Am I wrong?" Joseph raised his eyebrows in response.
"Alright, you're right, you both leave." Cassie started ushering them out, "I have things to do this afternoon."
"Cassie, I'll have Dad bring me to see you again tomorrow." Sophia waved, although she was reluctant to leave her. Staying with Joseph all the time would raise suspicions.
After Joseph carried Sophia downstairs, he squatted down and said seriously, "Sophia, you can't always let Liam bring you to see Cassie."
"Why?" Sophia suddenly became unhappy, "If I had known, I wouldn't have let you bring me to see Cassie. I really like her, but you won't let me meet her."
