Chapter 1394 Michael Succeeded
The black Bentley zoomed down the road like it had somewhere real important to be.
Michael, totally wasted, leaned his head on Laura's shoulder, humming, "Babe, you smell so good."
Laura just mumbled a half-hearted "Mm," not in the mood to chat with a drunk, especially with the driver right there.
But Michael was seriously hammered and not acting right.
"I really wanna kiss you."
Laura, all flustered, quickly pushed him away.
"Why'd you push me? You don't like me?" Michael pouted like a kid, "I knew it, no one likes me, even you think I'm gross."
"I don't," Laura denied.
"Yeah, you do," Michael said, lunging to hug her, "Babe, don't leave me. I'll be good to you, I swear."
Laura's face turned red, and she was losing it; there was a driver in the car, and this was way too embarrassing.
Flustered by his words, she shut him up with a kiss.
His mouth tasted like red wine, kinda tart, but not bad.
Michael held her and kissed her for what felt like forever.
Hearing the ruckus in the back, the driver blushed and hit the gas.
Young love, man, it's intense.
The driver had been at this job for over ten years and had never seen anything like this.
When they finally pulled up to the villa, Laura used all her strength to push Michael away, "We're home."
"Hmm?" Michael mumbled, "I still wanna kiss."
"Let's get to the room first, okay?" Laura coaxed him.
After a lot of coaxing, she managed to get him inside.
The housekeeper heard the noise and quickly came out to help her get him to the bedroom.
"Where's Maeve?"
"The nanny put her to sleep," the housekeeper said.
Laura nodded. The nanny was sent by the Jude Family and was super experienced with kids, so she felt reassured.
Normally, Laura might want to sleep with Maeve, but tonight she was just too wiped out.
After sending the housekeeper away, Laura helped Michael out of his suit. He'd been around too many people tonight, and she wasn't cool with him sleeping in his day clothes, thinking they might bring germs to bed.
With him out cold, she changed him into pajamas.
After she showered, Michael was almost asleep.
When she got into bed and was about to crash, she felt Michael move closer and hug her.
She gave him a half-hearted push.
"Babe."
Michael, still drunk, kissed her again.
"Stop, I wanna sleep."
Laura mumbled, super tired and not having much strength.
"Babe, I like you," Michael said passionately.
Realizing he was getting out of hand, Laura was no longer sleepy and felt a bit panicked, "Stop, Michael. I'm not ready for this."
"Laura, I wanna make love to you. Don't push me away. I promise I'll be good to you and take care of you," Michael said sweetly.
His handsome face turned towards her, and honestly, any woman would find it hard to resist in this situation.
Laura's heart softened for a moment.
She had dated Benjamin before, but when things got heated, Benjamin was always calm and restrained, unlike Michael.
Of course, Michael wasn't usually like this either; it was just because he was drunk tonight.
And she wasn't that resistant now.
After all, they were married, and she wanted to build a stable and fulfilling life with Michael.
Laura hesitated for just a moment, and Michael took his chance.
At seven in the morning.
Birds landed on the windowsill, chirping away.
Michael was the first to open his eyes. After a night of heavy drinking, his head was pounding, and his stomach felt like a mess.
But when he saw his surroundings clearly, he was dumbfounded.
He was lying in bed, his arms around a woman. Her hair was spread out seductively on the pillow, and her exposed neck was covered in kiss marks.
Fragments of memories flashed through his mind.
Michael's mind was in chaos.
He seemed to have made love to Laura last night.
Made love.
This was something he had dreamed of.
But on such an exciting night, he had gotten drunk again.
He felt like crying.
He had only made love twice in his life, and both times he was drunk.
He felt like he had missed out on a fortune.
It was so painful.
No, he had to do it again.
Michael stared at the still-sleeping Laura, struggling internally for a long time, then slowly moved his body under the covers.
When Laura woke up, she almost kicked Michael out of bed.
"Michael, please, I just want to sleep." She was both embarrassed and annoyed.
"Laura, I didn't mean to. I was drunk last night and don't remember," Michael kissed and coaxed her, "Look, since things are like this, let's just live a shameless life together, okay?"
'Who wants to live a shameless life with you?' Laura thought, feeling both angry and embarrassed. But thinking about what had already happened, it seemed unnecessary to resist.
Laura was just a little annoyed that she had let him succeed too quickly.
They didn't get up until after ten.
When they went downstairs, they were met with Caroline's teasing gaze.
Laura was embarrassed. She was also feeling uncomfortable, and Michael beside her looked smug.
"Honey, what do you want to eat? I'll make it for you." Michael wanted to hold her all the time.
Caroline teased, "You go make something, but Laura, you should feed Maeve first."
Laura lovingly whisked Maeve away to a corner for feeding.
She was really shy, afraid someone would see the kiss marks on her body.
"That's my boy." In the kitchen, Caroline gave Michael an approving look.
