Chapter 1254 Lucas Is Actually This Ruthless
Lucas slammed the phone down as soon as he finished talking.
He didn't give a damn how pissed Yancy was on the other end.
Then, he punched in another number. "Get Sarah to my place in an hour."
"Got it." But soon, the guy on the other end called back, "Mr. Nelson, Sarah's with your mom."
Hearing this, Lucas chuckled.
But his guy on the other end felt a shiver run down his spine.
Whenever Lucas was really ticked off, he'd laugh like that—low, cold, and bone-chilling.
"Shut down all of Sarah's gigs. She signed with Dreamscape Entertainment. If she tries to work with anyone else without our say-so, it's a breach of contract. And she better not think about working with anyone else."
The guy got the message loud and clear.
Sarah had really pissed Lucas off this time.
Even if she had other connections, as long as her contract was with Dreamscape, anyone who worked with her would be in deep trouble. No film company would touch her.
"Oh, and one more thing." Lucas paused, then added, "Spread the word, even if my parents call, ignore them. Find out who at Nelson Hospital agreed to my dad's request to let the Wittelsbach family's bodyguards in, and fire them. I don't want to see that person again."
"Understood." The guy knew Lucas was sending a message to the whole Nelson group.
His orders were not to be messed with, not even by Yancy.
No wonder the Nelson group, under Lucas's leadership, was quietly taking over the business world.
Lucas wasn't as flashy as Joseph, but the Nelson group was even more impressive than the once-glorious Hernandez group.
Because Lucas was ruthless, not even sparing his own dad.
At the Nelson Estate, Sarah was strolling through the garden with Erin.
She was doing her best to butter Erin up.
"You're such a good and obedient girl. Don't worry, I'll make sure Lucas marries you," Erin said, holding her hand and smiling.
To her, Sarah was a walking blood bank. No way she could let her get away.
The older people get, the more they fear death, especially someone as powerful as Erin.
"Aunt Erin, thank you." Sarah sighed. "I'm just worried that helping the Wittelsbach family this time will make Lucas mad."
"He doesn't get it. The Hernandez family is already on the decline. Offending a powerful family like the Wittelsbachs for Joseph is just dumb. You did the right thing," Erin praised.
Just as she finished talking, Sarah's agent called, "Sarah, what's going on? The company canceled all your gigs. The famous director Ms. Brooks recommended you to had agreed to let you star in his new film, but the company called him and said they didn't approve. If he insisted on casting you, he'd have to pay the company eighty million dollars in compensation. The director immediately backed out."
Sarah was stunned. "Why?"
"Because when you signed with Dreamscape Entertainment, there was a clause that all your business and film contracts had to be approved by the company. If you breach it, you owe them big time."
The agent sounded bitter. "Mr. Nelson always had your back, so this clause never mattered. What did you do to piss him off?"
"Give me a sec to process this." Sarah hung up, her eyes welling up.
Erin quickly asked, "What's going on?"
"Lucas shut down all my work. Ms. Brooks had lined up a big director for me, but the company blocked it and scared him off," Sarah cried. "It must be because I told you about the Wittelsbach family. But I did it for his own good."
"Lucas is being an idiot. Don't worry, I'll handle this," Erin said just as Yancy's car pulled in.
He got out, slamming the door. "That bastard Lucas actually fired Matteo Russo. It's a slap in my face."
"Who's Matteo Russo?" Erin asked, confused.
"The hospital director who let the Wittelsbach family's bodyguards in. I spoke to Matteo directly, but Lucas fired him without a word. Said he didn't listen to him. Isn't this a blatant slap in my face?" Yancy was fuming. "He doesn't respect me at all."
Sarah's face went pale. She didn't expect Lucas to be so ruthless.
He didn't call her or scold her; he just silently punished those who helped her.
"This is too much. I'll call him and make him come back. How can he treat his family like this?"
Erin dialed Lucas's number, but no one answered.
Frustrated, she called Lucas's assistant. "Tell Lucas that I'm not feeling well and he needs to come home immediately, or he might see my corpse."
By nightfall, Lucas strolled back to the Nelson Estate.
As soon as he walked in, Yancy picked up a cup and hurled it at Lucas.
Lucas raised his hand and caught it, a lazy smile on his handsome face. "Dad, you're really getting old. You're so weak."
"You!" Yancy's eyes bulged in anger.
Was he weak? He had thrown it with all his might.
Furious, he picked up another cup and threw it.
Lucas casually dodged, not a single cup hitting him, while Yancy was left panting.
"Dad, you're really out of shape. You should retire and spend more time working out with Mom." Lucas said as he plopped down on the sofa, pulling out a cigarette, his arrogant posture making Yancy want to smash something.
But there was nothing left to smash on the table.
Lucas was too slick.
Throwing more would just be a waste of energy.
"Lucas, you've gone too far." Erin glared at Lucas. "He's still your father. You show him no respect. And Sarah, she's your fiancée. Everything she does is for you."
"Dad, you don't respect me either. I just sent a message to Nelson Hospital, and you immediately jumped out to slap me in the face. How can I maintain any authority in the Nelson group?"
