Chapter 1364 Women All Like to Say One Thing and Mean Another

In the end, Laura had no choice but to rock a black haute couture gown to the event. Sure, it didn't flaunt her once-sexy curves, but hey, it did a decent job of hiding the extra pounds.

That night, she rolled in with Michael, who was holding Maeve. Michael was decked out in an off-white suit, and with his handsome mug, he looked like he was strutting down a red carpet, totally stealing the show. Laura felt a pang of sadness; she felt like she was the first woman to lose a beauty contest to her own hubby. As soon as they walked in, she noticed a bunch of young women eyeing Michael with excitement, then glancing at her with complicated looks.

Laura kept quiet and thought, 'Do they really have to be so extra? I'm still a hottie too. I swear, starting today, I'm gonna lose weight and get my perfect figure back in three months.'

"Laura." Cassie, in a champagne-colored gown, glided over gracefully. After nearly a month of not seeing her, she looked even more stunning, with her elegant shoulders and collarbones glowing under the starry lights, making her look vibrant and radiant. Trailing behind her was Joseph in a dark suit, and beside them were their boy-girl twins. Sophia wore a cute dress, and Oliver was in a suit. No matter where this family of four went, they were the center of attention.

The guests started whispering as they looked at them. "Joseph and Cassie's kids are so good-looking, they make me wanna have kids too."

"Do you think having boy-girl twins is that easy? Plus, we don't have Cassie and Joseph's genes."

"Are they remarried? I heard David was executed."

"Not sure, but it seems like neither of them is working anymore; they travel all the time."

"Well, Cassie's mom is an oil tycoon, and Joseph's dad is reportedly Cameron, the chairman of the Garrison Group, one of the top 100 multinational companies in the world. Even if they don't work, they have enough money to last a lifetime."

"Man, they're really lucky. It's said that their combined wealth could practically run a country. They've got castles, yachts, private jets, islands, and even their own vineyards. Our money is nothing compared to theirs."

Cassie was speechless and thought, 'What does Isabella's money have to do with me? I'm not actually that rich. And those yachts and castles aren't mine; they belong to Joseph's dad. As for the island, Everett insisted on giving it to me, saying he has too many private islands under his name. Of course, I didn't want to accept it, so Everett directly had the president transfer it to Sophia and Oliver's names, and that's how the rumor started.'

"Cassie, you even have a private island now, and you didn't tell me. Take me there to play sometime," Laura walked over, smiling.

"Forget it, Everett gave it to me, and I didn't plan to accept it. I don't want too many ties with Isabella," Cassie said lightly.

"But Isabella has publicly acknowledged you as her daughter, and even Declan said in a global interview that he would treat you as his own daughter and that he admires you."

Laura shot Joseph a sly grin, "Mr. Hernandez, lately, a bunch of rich folks have been hitting up the Jude family, asking me to hook them up with Cassie. I guess with Cassie's current status, even if they can't marry her, being her side piece would be good enough."

Joseph's face turned dark, "She can barely handle just me."

"Joseph, you're a legend!" Michael looked at him with admiration, full of envy.

"What are you guys talking about?" Sophia and Oliver looked puzzled.

Cassie blushed, "Nothing, go grab some food." Sophia dashed off, and Oliver shook his head, following her to keep an eye on her.

"Cassie, I noticed that after you and Joseph went to Yugrot for a month, both of your skin looks amazing," Laura remarked.

"Maybe it's because we drank milk every day there," Cassie laughed, "Let's go over there and chat."

The two women walked away, and Michael enviously punched Joseph's chest, "Joseph, spill the beans, how did you do it?"

"What are you talking about?" Joseph was puzzled.

Michael leaned in closer, "Weren't you and Cassie on the rocks before? How did you get back to hooking up with her so fast? I didn't expect you to bounce back like that."

Joseph was speechless; he had been with Cassie for a month already. If he said that, Michael would be even more jealous. But this was between him and Cassie, and he didn't want to talk about it, "You're so envious; how long has it been since you hooked up with Laura?"

"He hasn't since then." Lucas's cheerful voice suddenly chimed in. He strolled over in an elegant black suit.

"Joseph, you might have forgotten, but Michael only hooked up with Laura once to get her pregnant."

Michael's face instantly darkened, "Lucas, that's enough."

Lucas gently patted Michael's shoulder, "Michael, you're really not good at dealing with women."

"Do you think I want to be like this?" Michael gritted his teeth and whispered, "Last time, I did what you said, showing off my body after a shower in front of her, and she hurt my self-esteem."

"Don't you know women like to say one thing and mean another?" Lucas gave him a sidelong glance, "Besides, with Laura's temper, she definitely loves to say the opposite of what she means."

Michael was stunned and questioned, 'Really?'

"Women do like to say one thing and mean another." Joseph smirked; he had the most experience with that. Just like Cassie, who always said no, but as long as he was a bit more persistent, she would still be passionate.

Not far away, Laura glanced at the men and asked, "Cassie, when do you plan to remarry Joseph?"

Cassie was taken aback, then smiled lightly, "I haven't thought about remarrying; I'm good with how things are."

"But if this keeps up, will Joseph be okay with it?" Laura was surprised.

Cassie frowned, "I don't know. After two failed marriages, I'm scared of tying the knot again."
