Chapter 1764 Bernice Is Mysterious

Bernice snapped her book shut and looked over at Gabriella. "Do you think acting pays well?"

Gabriella almost teared up. "Duh, one movie can make more than most people earn in half a lifetime. You know my monthly salary is less than your leftovers."

"Seriously? So, who do you think makes more, me or Max?" Bernice asked, curious.

Gabriella's eyes darted around, and she got this weird look on her face. "Wait, you're not thinking about starting your own film company, are you? Bernice, that's not easy. The film market is super competitive right now."

Bernice raised an eyebrow, her tone turning icy. "Gabriella, I can give you a shot. A chance to be on Max's level, but you have to promise me your loyalty."

Gabriella was stunned.

She wanted to ask if Bernice was joking, but she knew better. Bernice never joked about stuff like this.

It was clear this was serious.

Gabriella jumped up. "Bernice, I swear, ever since I left Dreamscape Entertainment Group, you've been my only boss. I'll follow you, and I won't even tell Fiona our secrets. If I break my promise, I'll face the consequences."

Bernice didn't believe in oaths, but she believed in ambition.Suddenly, the doorbell rang.

"We've got a guest. Go get the door," Bernice said. "Bring them in."

Gabriella rushed to the door and was shocked to see the man standing there. "Mr. Myles."

She had looked up Lyndon's photo after the head of Stellar Entertainment Group contacted her last time. She never expected him to show up at Bernice's villa.

"Mr. Myles, Bernice has already gone back to Dreamscape Entertainment Group."

"I'm not here for that," Lyndon said with a slight smile. "Open the door."

Remembering Bernice's instructions, Gabriella quickly opened the door.

Once inside, Lyndon seemed like a different person, shaking Bernice's hand with respect. "You finally agreed to see me. Watching you get trashed online these past few days made me furious. Dreamscape Entertainment Group is too despicable. You shouldn't have gone back, but don't worry, we're in this together now. I'll definitely get revenge for you."

Gabriella was confused.

Did something happen she didn't know about?

It was the first time she realized Bernice and Lyndon were so close. No wonder trolls were going after Gary this time.

Gabriella suddenly felt even better about her decision to stick with Bernice.

"Is the funding ready?" Bernice asked calmly, pulling her hand back.

"Yes." Lyndon's eyes were filled with mixed emotions.

No wonder she was the one who shook up Austin four years ago, Reborn. He was stunned; how old was Reborn back then? Was she still in college? But he had checked Bernice's background, and she didn't seem like someone hiding such a powerful identity.

Bernice was a mystery.

Even with her current financial status, she didn't need to make this little money in the entertainment industry.

But he knew his place; everyone had their secrets. As long as Reborn was willing to help Stellar Entertainment Group, they'd have the confidence and funds to expand massively.

Dreamscape Entertainment Group's current confidence also came from the financial backing behind Lucas.

"Money makes everything easier," Bernice said, signaling Gabriella to make a cup of coffee. "Stellar Entertainment Group hasn't been doing as well as Dreamscape Entertainment Group lately. You know why. Your stars take on crappy projects just for the cash. With money, you can buy quality scripts and hire big-name stars. You can produce your own variety shows and web series. But what you really need is a solid online media platform."

Lyndon's eyes lit up. "You mean?"

"Stellar Entertainment Group should invest in VirtualVision. Dreamscape Entertainment Group invested in FutureFlix, right? We can invest in DigitalEcho. With VirtualVision, Stellar Entertainment Group, and DigitalEcho, TV stations will come to us. Then we can make strategic deals."

Bernice's suggestion made Lyndon tremble with excitement. "But that takes a lot of money."

"I said, money's not a problem." Bernice casually crossed her legs. "Besides, investment brings bigger returns, right?"

"Right." Lyndon nodded. "Our Myles family has been in the entertainment industry for decades. We know a lot of people. I'll get this done as soon as possible."

"Dreamscape Entertainment Group is being targeted by the authorities right now, so their actions in the industry will be limited. This is our chance."

Bernice added, "Plus, Dreamscape Entertainment Group's style hasn't been popular with smaller film companies. Sometimes, it's smart to team up with those smaller companies. Sharing the pie is better than eating it alone and making enemies."

"You're right, Bernice. Here's to our successful partnership." Lyndon nodded deeply. "Do you have time to attend our shareholders' meeting?"

"No need, you know my situation." Bernice declined. "I have one request. I don't want to see Sarah make a successful comeback. I can't stand her."

"No problem."

Lyndon laughed. "I have to say, Lucas spending money to promote someone like Sarah... I don't know if he's thinking with his brain or something else."

Bernice smiled faintly, not commenting.

She didn't hate Sarah deeply, but Sarah had convinced Lucas to use Bernice to divert public attention last time, and Bernice remembered that.

She couldn't go after Lucas right now, but she could deal with Sarah.

After Lyndon left, Gabriella looked at Bernice like she was a big shot. "Bernice, I didn't know you were a major shareholder of Stellar Entertainment Group. Oh my God, you're so rich. Never mind, it's your secret. I knew I followed the right person. But if you don't act, how will you explain to Dreamscape Entertainment Group?"

Bernice looked at her. "You didn't read the contract carefully. It doesn't say how many movies I have to make each year or how much money I have to earn for the company."

Gabriella's mouth dropped open, and then she was full of admiration. "Mr. Jenkins was outsmarted by you."

"It's not outsmarting. He and Lucas both thought my comeback was to keep making money in the entertainment industry. Mr. Jenkins was focused on maximizing my value."

Bernice sneered, "So what if the contract is signed? If I don't act or take on ads, the contract doesn't bind me at all."

Gabriella was already full of admiration.

"When the time is right, invite Fiona to Stellar Entertainment Group."

Bernice said confidently, "I want to hollow out Dreamscape Entertainment Group bit by bit. Lucas wants to expand in the entertainment industry? I'll make all his years of planning and effort go to waste. Someone like him should just go back to being a doctor."
