Chapter 1469 Lucas is the Big Winner

Lucas grinned and leaned in close, whispering in her ear with a wicked tone, "Bernice, you wanted to send your crew abroad, right? Well, guess what? They didn't make it."

Bernice's eyes widened, a mix of shock and fury in her gaze. "What did you do?"

"Not much, just blocked their visas. I know their names and IDs. They can't leave the country now. It's not safe for them here, but their safety is up to me."

Lucas lit his cigarette, his cruel words contrasting with the gentle smile on his handsome face.

What Lucas did was anything but gentlemanly.

Bernice got it instantly.

Her right hand shook with anger, itching to slap him.

"Thinking about hitting me?" Lucas raised an eyebrow. "Go ahead, but think about the consequences."

Bernice sneered, "Mr. Nelson, you're something else. In one night, you used me, Laura, Michael, and Megan. In the end, you're the big winner. You're so calculating. People like you are destined to be alone until death. No one will ever love you because you're too cold-blooded."

"Doesn't matter. I don't need love. I just need to have you," Lucas mocked indifferently.

Bernice chuckled, her eyes filled with endless hatred. "You overestimate me. My body is no different from the women you've been with. What I have, they have too. Or maybe you're obsessed with the fact that two former friends both slept with you. Too bad Nina isn't alive. Otherwise, we could occasionally accompany you together, right? That would be quite exciting for you, Mr. Nelson."

Bernice hit a nerve, and his eyes turned menacing.

But after a moment, he shrugged it off. "Don't provoke me; it's useless. I've lived my whole life selfishly and freely. Even if I die and go to hell, it doesn't matter."

He paused and gently touched her cheek. "But you, through this incident, exposed your weakness. Bernice, threatening you is useless. I can see you're not even afraid of death. But before things went wrong, you arranged everything well for your subordinates, which means you care about them. So, it's your choice. If you want to save them, be my lover. If you don't, I'll hand them over. Considering the kidnapping of Megan, they must have committed many crimes with you. If investigated, they might not survive."

Bernice looked up at his handsome face.

At that moment, she really wanted to kill him.

But Lucas wasn't Megan; Bernice didn't have that ability to kill him.

Bernice felt that Lucas was like a demon, whether she was living in Nina's body or now in Bernice's body.

What had Bernice done in her past life to deserve meeting this man again and again in this life?

"You decide. I'm hungry. For you, I haven't had breakfast."

Lucas leisurely sat at the dining table, where a delicate breakfast was still slightly warm.

He used a knife and fork to cut the fried egg.

Bernice took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, they were as calm as a still lake.

She walked over to him and asked, "How long do I have to be your lover?"

"Until I get bored," Lucas replied, pulling her onto his lap. His arm wrapped around her, and he whispered in a voice that could almost be mistaken for tenderness, "Try some egg. I made it; it's pretty good."

Bernice glanced at the egg on his fork. After a moment, she leaned in and took a bite.

Lucas watched her neck as she bent down, slender and graceful like a swan's.

He couldn't remember the last time he had taken the time to really look at a woman.

"Good girl," Lucas murmured, lifting her chin and leaning in for a kiss.

Bernice instinctively pulled back.

"Forgot what I said already?" Lucas bit her lip, their eyelashes almost touching.

Bernice felt a wave of sorrow but eventually parted her lips and let him kiss her.

There was still some egg in her mouth. Normally, Lucas would have found it disgusting, but today, he didn't mind.

His kiss was forceful.

When his lips moved to her neck, Bernice couldn't take it anymore and pulled away. "I didn't sleep well last night. I'm really tired."

"Alright, I'll give you a couple of days to rest," Lucas said, stroking her hair.

"I want to visit Laura this afternoon. I need to thank her," Bernice said, her voice lacking energy.

"Okay, I'll go with you," Lucas nodded.

"No." Bernice's tone was filled with resignation. "Being your woman isn't something to be proud of. Your main goal is to sleep with me. Once you've done that, do you still need to trample on my dignity?"

"Honey, you shouldn't think that way. Do you know how many people want to be my lover?" Lucas said, his tone shifting as if he were speaking to someone he truly cared about.

But Bernice was already numb.

No one knew Lucas better than she did. He could be as gentle as a prince when he wanted someone, making them feel like they were the only one in the world.

But once he got bored, he was as cold as ice.

"But I'm not them," Bernice said, meeting his gaze, her eyes reflecting his gentle facade.

Lucas stared at her, feeling a strange sense of nostalgia.

It reminded him of a time when he was close to another woman.

From her eyes, he could see his own reflection.

His heart felt a sudden squeeze, and he lost control, kissing her eyes and then her lips.

After a long moment, he finally said, "Alright."

In the afternoon, Fiona arrived.

After ringing the doorbell, it was Lucas who answered.

Fiona walked in with clothes and saw Bernice sitting on the sofa in her pajamas, eating. She felt a mix of emotions.

"Fiona, you finally brought the clothes," Bernice said, getting up to take them and heading upstairs to change.
