Chapter 1154 First Encounter
Cassie frowned deeply.
She had worked hard to get Robert and Helen locked up.
She didn't expect them to be out in less than four years.
"Did they do something to earn it?" Cassie asked.
"No idea," Elliott replied, shaking his head.
Cassie frowned again. "It doesn't add up. What could they have done in prison to cut over twenty years off their sentence? Maybe Olivia's involved."
Laura was shocked. "Olivia's back? No way. After Robert and Helen got locked up, she took off and hasn't been back in years. She's so ungrateful."
"Not sure, but it wouldn't be surprising if she did come back," Cassie sighed.
"Can she really get Robert and Helen out? She's always been sneaky. Every time we've clashed, I've lost. If she's back, she's definitely ready." Cassie's eyes showed deep worry.
David's issue was still unresolved, and Joseph was still competing with the Chamberlain family. If Olivia returned, it would be a big problem.
Michael looked around. "Who's Olivia?"
Laura glared at him. "Cassie's cousin. She's terrifying, maybe even more than Megan."
Michael was stunned. Megan had fooled him for over ten years, and there was someone even better at it.
"Let's not worry about it. You two have high statuses now. Even if Olivia comes back, there's no need to be scared," Elliott said with a faint smile.
"True. Cassie, I'm Carl's goddaughter now. I'll help you out." Laura hugged Cassie. "If Olivia comes back, we'll settle everything with her. This time, she won't get away."
"Thanks, but it's just a guess. Maybe Olivia hasn't come back at all." Cassie smiled. After parting ways with Laura and the others, Cassie headed to the underground parking lot. Soon, a middle-aged man hurried over. "Ms. Brooks, sorry I'm late. Traffic was bad. Here's the car you wanted."
"No problem." Cassie took the keys. "You can go now."
After getting in the car, she went to buy flowers.
All the flower shops were on an old street in Silverwood.
She walked into a large flower shop. "Can I get a bouquet of lilies?"
"Sure." The owner quickly handed them to her.
"Do you have carnations?" Cassie asked. "I need a bouquet of those too."
"No, we don't," the owner said. "A guy came by earlier and bought all my carnations."
Cassie was stunned. "Alright, I'll check elsewhere."
After visiting five or six shops, she found out the same person had bought all the carnations.
One shop owner suggested, "Why not check the small alley inside? There are a few flower shops there too. That guy might not have gone in."
Cassie nodded. She knew Silverwood well.
The small alley was usually empty, with a few rundown shops run by elderly folks.
But she hadn't gone far when she saw a man surrounded by some thugs.
"You must be rich, buying all the flowers around here. Hand over your watch and wallet, and we'll let you go," one thug said, swinging a wooden stick.
"This watch was a gift from my dad. It's expensive; I can't give it to you," Everett replied, his accent a bit off.
Cassie raised an eyebrow. She guessed Everett was young, maybe just out of college, and probably grew up abroad, not too familiar with the local language.
'His parents might be from Silverwood and haven't been back in a while,' she thought.
"You think you can just say no and walk away?"
"Hand over your stuff, or I'll make you crawl out of here."
These thugs threatened him.
"Robbing in broad daylight? You guys must be nuts," Cassie said with a faint smile as she walked over.
She was wearing black ripped jeans, a white T-shirt, and a denim jacket draped over her shoulders. Sunglasses perched on her nose made her look like she was in her early twenties.
Even with her sunglasses on, it was clear she had a pretty face, stunning everyone.
Everett stared at her, dazed.
For some reason, Cassie felt familiar to him. He had seen photos of Isabella when she was young and thought she was the most beautiful person. But seeing Cassie, he realized someone could be just as attractive.
Even though her eyes were covered, he could tell they must be beautiful.
Olivia was also considered a beauty, but compared to Cassie, Olivia's looks were completely overshadowed.
Cassie also took a look at Everett.
She was stunned too.
Everett was about 6'3", with captivating eyes and an aura of untamed arrogance.
He looked only three or four years younger than Cassie.
"Where did this beauty come from? Are you here to join us?" One thug's eyes lit up when he saw Cassie. "How about you come home with me, and I won't rob him."
"Beautiful and charming young lady, you should leave quickly. I'll hold them off," Everett said, spreading his arms to shield her.
Cassie smirked, thinking, 'Beautiful and charming young lady? Where on earth is he from?'
