Chapter 25 Hand out flyers

Joseph didn't expect her to actually eat it. Half of his anger dissipated. "How does it taste?"

"It's pretty good. Do you want to join me?" Cassie blurted out, irritated. As soon as she said it, the temperature around them seemed to drop.

With a half-smile, Joseph filled her bowl with more cat food. "Really? If you think it's good, then eat more."

Under his watchful eyes, Cassie forced herself to eat an entire bowl of cat food.

"You did well," Joseph said, satisfied, as he pocketed his hands and headed back to his room. As he turned, he caught a glimpse of Cassie rushing to the bathroom to brush her teeth, a fleeting smile crossing his deep eyes.

Cassie was so disgusted by the cat food that she couldn't sleep well all night. When she woke up early the next morning, she still felt a fishy taste in her mouth.

Cassie had to get up early to make breakfast for Joseph.

She vowed to make him fall in love with her, only to crush him and take her revenge.

When Joseph returned from his run and saw the lavish breakfast she had prepared, he was stunned.

"Joey, I felt really bad about making you eat cat pudding yesterday. Consider this breakfast my apology," Cassie said, looking regretful.

Joseph's expression was odd. "No need. You were already punished last night."

Cassie awkwardly replied, "After I ate the cat food, I understand how disgusting it felt."

Joseph lowered his eyes and said nothing more.

As they were about to leave after breakfast, he asked, "Are you going to work? Do you want me to drop you off at the subway station?"

Cassie shook her head and said despondently, "I got fired."

Joseph frowned. He knew she worked at her family's company, so it seemed her conflict with her family was quite serious. "Maybe it's for the best. You can stay home and take care of Dakota."

"I still plan to find a job. Don't worry. I'll take good care of Dakota."

"Whatever," Joseph said as he left.

For the next two days, Cassie was busy job hunting.

Jobs in interior design or architecture were easy to find, but she couldn't reveal she was a Brooks family member and had to hide her experience.

Moreover, she was young, and larger companies only wanted to hire her as a junior assistant.

In the end, she joined the small CZ Decoration Company.

The company was only a thousand square feet with two designers. Besides designing, she also had to hand out flyers outside the sales offices.

It was her first time doing such a job. At first, she was shy, but she gradually got used to it.

Although it was autumn, the weather had turned unusually hot. After standing for over an hour, she was sweating profusely, and her skin was turning red.

At that moment, a black car stopped in front of her.

She was startled to see it was Arthur's car.

"Cassie, how can you be handing out flyers here?" Olivia stepped out from the passenger seat.

Cassie remembered Arthur once said the passenger seat was her exclusive spot. Now, it felt like a cruel joke.

She coldly replied, "If not here, where should I hand them out? At Height Architectural Decoration Company?"

Olivia bit her lip uncomfortably. "That's not what I meant."

"Olivia is just concerned about you. How can you talk like that?" Arthur suddenly got out of the car, slamming the door hard. "Look at you now. Don't you feel ashamed?"

Cassie looked up and saw the disdain on his face. It felt like her heart was being torn apart. "I didn't steal someone's man or position. Why should I be ashamed?"
