Chapter 666
In the evening.
Sie walked out of the elevator carrying groceries she had just bought from the supermarket. She smelled the scent of smoke, and then she saw a tall and handsome figure standing at her doorstep. When other men dressed in black custom-made suits, they looked like bodyguards or estate agents.
But when the same color was worn on Joseph, it exuded elegance and nobility, as if standing on a dazzling red carpet under the starlight, making it impossible for people to look away.
Joseph lifted his clear and deep eyes from the smoke.
They exchanged glances, and Sie paused for a moment.
The little boy from the neighbor's house opened the door, set down a bag of trash by the door, and looked up at Sie, winking and smiling. He said, "Sie, you're back! Your boyfriend has been waiting here for you for an hour. I saw him when I came back from school."
"He is not my boyfriend," she said awkwardly.
"Don’t be shy; I saw you kissing him last time," the little boy said before quickly shutting the door.
Through a closed door, Sie could still hear his mother scolding him, "You naughty boy, I told you to take out the trash, why are you talking nonsense again."
"No, I didn't. I even took the elevator down with that man on my way to school yesterday morning. It's just like what you always say, dating without marriage as the premise is just playing around."
Joseph was feeling down and didn't know what to say.
Sie was a bit embarrassed. She took out her keys and opened the door, asking, "What are you here for again?"
Joseph's lips moved slightly, and he blurted out, "You don't welcome me here?"
After speaking, Joseph felt regretful. This was not what he wanted to say.
After glancing at him, Sie coldly chuckled, "Every time you come here now, you just want me to sleep with you. Sorry, I'm tired and don't want to be with you."
"I wasn't today," said Joseph.
Joseph was annoyed by her words again. "Enough, Sie, don't make me look like a dirty scoundrel."
"You are." She glared at him angrily with her cheeks puffed up, upset but still looking cute.
Joseph's heart was once again tickled; he said in a deep voice, "The day before yesterday, as you know, I was set up by someone. And yesterday... you infuriated me."
She chuckled coldly, "When I infuriated you, you act like that. Do you treat other women the same when they make you angry?"
"Are you treating me like a bastard?" Joseph asked, sounding slightly annoyed.
She secretly thought to herself, ‘Aren't you a bastard?’
Sie pursed lips, with a pair of beautiful eyes shimmered with a strange luster, showing anticipation as if there were other reasons. Even her tone carried coquettishness, "Then why do you treat me like this?"
Joseph didn't miss her gaze; he even had the urge to hug her.
But suddenly, Megan's gentle image flashed through his mind. He lowered his gaze and took out two boxes of pills from his pocket, handing them over. "One box is painkillers, and the other is contraceptive pills. Remember to take them."
She raised her head, her beautiful eyes trembling slightly, revealing a mix of restrained tears and anger. "Joseph, what do you mean by this? Are you so afraid that my pregnancy will affect you and Megan? If that's the case, then why did you touch me?"
"I won't touch you again. You took the pills; yesterday was an accident," said Joseph coldly.
"Joseph, you bastard, get out of here." she pushed him out with tears rolling down.
Joseph saw Sie crying, feeling a bit sad. Ever since Sie came back, she had been sharp and aloof every time except when they were in bed. He saw her crying with his lips moved slightly as he subconsciously said, "Sie, actually, I don't hate you as much anymore."
She looked at him with sarcasm and sadness. "What do you mean, should I be moved to tears?"
