Chapter 1160 Am I Moody, Right?

"Cassie." Joseph walked up, pulled her into a hug, and smoothed her messy hair.

Cassie caught his familiar scent and realized Joseph had really come to Silverwood.

"Mr. Hernandez showed up at the Miller's at 6:30 this morning," Luke said with a grin. "He probably took an overnight flight. He can't stand being away from you."

Cassie blushed under Luke's gaze and quickly pushed Joseph away.

Joseph's face darkened as he thought, 'We just met, and she pushed me away. Does she think I'm worse than Everett?'

"Why'd you come here so suddenly?" Cassie asked, noticing the bags under his eyes. "Didn't you sleep at all last night? You have dark circles."

Joseph frowned. He hadn't noticed the dark circles, but her comment annoyed him, so he stayed silent.

"You two chat. I'm going for a walk," Luke said, leaving.

"Ms. Brooks, want some breakfast?" a servant asked with a smile.

"Sure, thanks," Cassie nodded.

The servant soon brought out breakfast.

Cassie handed a fork to Joseph. "Luke and Rose have stomach issues and high cholesterol, so the breakfast is light. But that's actually good."

Joseph didn't take the fork.

"What's wrong?" Cassie finally noticed something was off.

Joseph's frown deepened. "Do you think I'm getting old?"

Cassie looked confused.

He continued, "Just now, you mentioned my dark circles. Are you saying I'm not as handsome as before? Now you're talking about health. I'm older than you, have stomach pains, and need to take care of myself because I'm not young anymore."

Cassie stared at his handsome face in disbelief.

"What's going on?" she asked after a long pause.

"Now you're saying I'm moody, aren't you?" Joseph clenched his fists.

Cassie took a deep breath. If they weren't at the Miller Manor, she would've scolded him. She calmly explained, "I mentioned your dark circles because I was worried you stayed up all night. I talked about health because I thought you might not like the light breakfast, so I was reminding you it's still nutritious."

"Is that all?" Joseph was stunned, frowning.

"Believe it or not," Cassie said, sipping her porridge. "I don't know why you're so upset. Men your age are becoming mature and steady. Haven't you noticed how many women turn to look at you whenever we go out?"

Joseph's eyes brightened a bit, and he almost smiled but quickly hid it. "I'm not young anymore. I lack the energy and excitement of youth. I'm old-fashioned, boring, and dull."

Cassie rubbed her forehead, frustrated. "Did Michael say something to you?"

Joseph's eyes showed clear resentment. "Ms. Brooks, did you have fun with Everett last night? Do you still remember me?"

Cassie nearly spat out her porridge, quickly covering her mouth with a napkin, her shoulders shaking with laughter.

"Is it that funny?" Joseph asked quietly. "Did you forget that the night before last, you said you were tired of looking at my face?"

"Why are you so funny now?" Cassie laughed. After calming down, she leaned in and cupped his face, looking him over. "With such a good-looking face, how could I ever get tired of it?"

She brushed her fingers over his lips. "When you kiss me, it's mesmerizing. How could I look at anyone else? Compared to you, Everett is so immature. I like mature, masculine men like you, especially when you take off your clothes. Your body is exactly my type—not overly muscular but fit and well-proportioned."

"Stop it." Even Joseph blushed at her words.

Cassie was too seductive. Her words were sweet, and her fingers were incredibly suggestive.

"So, are you not mad anymore?" Cassie smiled.

"I'm not mad, just insecure. I'm not as confident in front of you as I used to be. But if I kiss you now, I might feel better." Joseph pulled her onto his lap and leaned in to kiss her.

"No, we are at the Miller Manor." Cassie was startled. "There are a lot of people here."

"Isn't it a bit late to notice there are a lot of people now?" Elliott's voice suddenly sounded from the side.

Cassie quickly pushed Joseph away, embarrassed. Turning her head, she saw Elliott standing at the staircase. "Elliott, when did you get here?"

"Not long ago, since you said his kiss was mesmerizing." Elliott calmly served himself a bowl of porridge and sat down. "I hope I'm not interrupting."

"No." Cassie was mortified, never having been so embarrassed in front of Elliott.

She glared at Joseph, but he seemed much happier.

"I finally understand why you managed to win over Joseph," Elliott said with a forced smile. "It's a pity Laura is your friend but hasn't learned a thing from you. Maybe you could teach her so she won't keep getting deceived by men."

"Elliott, please stop," Cassie said, using a plate to cover her face. "Joey, let me introduce you. This is Laura's brother, Elliott."

"Hello." Joseph nodded at Elliott.

Joseph had heard Noah mention the Miller Group before. It was just an old brand company in Silverwood, but since Elliott took over, the Miller Group had entered the top 100 companies in Madison.
