ChapterChapter 969 Was He Infertile?
When Cassie was putting pants on Joseph, she noticed with confusion that his penis seemed to be wrapped in bandages.
Cassie gulped hard as if she had discovered something significant.
She pondered, 'Why is Joseph's penis wrapped in bandages? Could it be that he is infertile?'
Cassie tried to test it, and indeed, his penis did not react.
Joseph wasn't like this before.
Cassie's mind went blank for a few seconds, and she gasped.
She asked herself inwardly, 'How could Joseph's penis be ruined like this? Could it be that Joseph's current state of drunkenness and decadence is actually because of this? It makes sense. For a man, this is a very important matter, especially for someone like Joseph, who values his needs so much. No wonder Joseph suddenly said that he would never get married or have children in this lifetime. He really couldn't get married or have children without it, and he was destined to live a lonely life.'
Cassie looked at Joseph's scarred face and felt a bit complicated.
Actually, Cassie should be very happy and should celebrate this, as it was completely what Joseph deserved for causing her so much harm.
But Cassie suddenly felt a bit sad.
Cassie sighed, helped Joseph clean up, disinfected his wounds, applied some ointment and dressed him. She covered him with a blanket before leaving and gently closed the door.
In the parking lot downstairs, Cassie sat in her car for quite a long time, feeling it quite unbelievable.
The next day, Joseph, hungover, was woken up by a phone call.
Joseph opened his eyes, saw the phone on the table, and pressed the answer button. Lucas's cold voice came through. "Joseph, did you get beaten up by Leon?"
Joseph was stunned for a moment before he suddenly realized that his body hurt. He vaguely remembered drinking too much at the bar last night, and then it seemed like he was beaten up after leaving. The person who beat him said a lot, but he couldn't remember who it was.
Anyway, Joseph just felt like if they wanted to beat him, they could. He didn't want to resist and had no strength to fight back.
"So it was Leon who beat me last night," Joseph murmured.
"You didn't know it?" Lucas said. "It's all over Whisperlyn City now. Leon, kicking someone when they're down. I never saw him as that kind of person before."
"I drank too much last night, so I don't remember." Joseph pinched his aching temples. "When did I have a grudge with Leon?"
"It must be because he resented you for breaking his leg three years ago, that bastard," Lucas cursed.
"I broke Leon's leg?" Joseph was shocked and confused. "I don't remember that."
"You've forgotten too many things," Lucas said. "Three years ago, Michael wanted to teach Cassie a lesson for you. Michael kidnapped Cassie onto a yacht and had Leon and a few others watch her dance. When you arrived, you saw Cassie being forced to drink and bullied. In a fit of rage, you broke the legs of quite a few people on the boat that night."
Joseph looked bewildered; he had no memory of this at all. "I used to do that for Cassie?"
"Of course. After that incident, those families even united to boycott you. The video of you breaking their legs that night was posted online, and you were heavily criticized. Later, no one dared to post the videos under your pressure, but if you look carefully, you can still find them," Lucas paused and then cursed. "I heard from Leon's side that it was Nathan who saw you drinking at the bar last night and then incited Leon to mess with you."
"Nathan?" Joseph's face instantly turned icy.
Losing faith in life was one thing, but that didn't mean he would let others bully him, especially Nathan. Over the years, he had been diligently helping the Zenith Group. If it hadn't been for him helping Nathan out of trouble and defending him in court, Nathan would have been in jail long ago.
Joseph asked himself inwardly, 'Why did Nathan incite Leon to beat me?'
"Are you sure?" Joseph asked coldly. "I didn't have any grudges with Nathan before."
"Are you sure there's no grudge?" Lucas reminded.
"Are you talking about my breakup with Megan?" Joseph was shocked, but then anger surged in his eyes.
Joseph didn't think he owed Megan anything. After all, when he and Cassie got back together, Megan and Nathan had secretly tried to sabotage their relationship multiple times.
Lucas sighed. "I don't know. I can only say that Nathan is bad. For someone like him, he thinks it's deserved. If you don't, he will hate you."
"Nathan did it on purpose." Joseph quickly realized. "He didn't want to do it himself, afraid of angering you guys, so he incited Leon."
"Probably. Last time, Nathan drugged Laura with hallucinogens, and Michael wanted to teach him a lesson. Nathan fled abroad. He probably thought Michael had calmed down, and he came back after more than a month," Lucas said. "You're my good friend. I'll get back at him for you."
"Alright." Joseph's mind was still a mess. "By the way, how did I get back last night?"
"I don't know. I only found out you were beaten this morning," Lucas replied.
Joseph looked down and suddenly noticed that his hands and body had been treated with ointment, and his clothes seemed to have been changed.
Joseph's face suddenly changed dramatically. After hanging up the phone, he pulled down his pants to check inside.
He said to himself inwardly, 'Damn it. My underwear was also changed. Did someone discover me last night? Who is it?'
Joseph remembered dreaming of Cassie last night.
He pondered, 'Did Cassie come here? That couldn't be possible.'
Joseph shivered, quickly got up, and ran to the security office. He asked the manager to pull up the surveillance footage, and he felt extremely embarrassed after watching it.
It was really Cassie. Cassie had changed his clothes and must have discovered the bandages on his penis.
Joseph wanted to slap himself. He cursed inwardly, 'Why did I go drinking last night? Now, my secret was uncovered.'
At nine in the morning, David drove Cassie to the entrance of the Peace Group, but Cassie was lost in thought. David reminded her in a low voice, "We're here."
"Okay." Cassie snapped back to reality and unbuckled her seatbelt. "Drive carefully."
David nodded and suddenly stared into Cassie's eyes. "Last night, Joseph seemed to have been beaten up."
"Let him be beaten then. It's none of my business," Cassie said as she opened the door. "I'm going up."
David watched Cassie's back as she left, then remembered the phone call he received that morning. "Last night, Joseph was beaten up by Leon's people, but Cassie later showed up and saved him."
David's eyes darkened. No wonder Cassie came back after one o'clock in the morning.
He cursed inwardly, 'You deceived me once again. Cassie, you damn bitch.'
