Chapter 637
"How do you know Liam was in on it? Did Joseph find out?" Cassie raised an eyebrow and asked.
"Yeah, I saw them discussing it in our group chat previously, though I refrained from commenting," Noah confessed, shaking his head with a sigh. "Ever since you were gone, I've been rather indifferent towards them. Joseph and Michael are obsessed with Megan, while Lucas remains entangled with Sarah. It's astonishing. Sarah, who was once a mediocre singer, is now revered as a superstar. It's preposterous.""Undeniably," Cassie murmured, her thoughts drifting to Nina, a cool and discerning girl who was far superior to the duplicitous Sarah. "This is precisely why I'm hesitant to meet them during my visit to New York. Each gathering involves Megan and Sarah, and their performances are sickening." Cassie chuckled lightly, "Noah, I must commend your resilience. How do you manage to remain unfazed in the company of such scumbags?""Your flattery is unnecessary. I've simply developed an eye for discerning the insincere," Noah retorted with a laugh. "Let's sit down. The mushroom soup here is exceptional."Shortly after, a waiter arrived with their steaming bowls of soup. Cassie sampled it and had to concede that it was indeed delicious."Is it to your liking?" Noah asked, a triumphant wink in his eye. "I've dined here once before and found the place remarkable." Cassie pondered for a moment before posing her question, "Noah, this place is rather hidden, and you're not a local. Was it Joseph who introduced you to it?"Noah appeared momentarily flustered. "That was several months ago. They frequently change venues and probably won't come here. Don't worry."
Cassie nodded in understanding. She had no desire to encounter those distasteful individuals while indulging in a good meal."On another note, Cassie, you should stop calling me Noah. From now on, refer to me as Brother Noah." Cassie stifled a laugh, "Must you be so corny?""What's corny about it? That's how my mother addresses me.""It's overly corny. Noah is just nice."
After they had finished their meal, Noah rose to settle the bill. "Noah, you're here as well? When did you arrive in New York? You didn't tell us," Michael's voice suddenly rang out.
Noah spun around to find Michael, Joseph, Lucas, Sarah, and Megan standing behind him. A headache began to throb at his temples. He mentally apologized to Cassie."I arrived just this afternoon. Isn't it normal to catch up with friends?" Noah responded, his voice strained.Lucas eyed him, "We're heading to a club later, care to join us?""No, I have something else to do. I'll touch base with you all later," Noah declined. As Noah finished speaking, Cassie's voice wafted in from the entrance."Noah, have you made the payment?"
Joseph narrowed his eyes.
That voice. He spun around to find Cassie walking out with a handsome young man. The man was wearing jeans and a checkered shirt, his short curly hair giving him a star-like aura. And the man was holding a beige women's trench coat, unmistakably Cassie's.
Cassie was evidently flirting with other men despite not being officially divorced.
