Chapter 1535 Because I Like You
She didn't seem to have invited Derek at all, did she?
"Laura, who's this?" Levi asked, looking confused.
Derek gave him a cool glance, "Derek."
Levi was caught off guard. He'd been in the entertainment biz for years, always rubbing elbows with big shots. He'd never met Derek, but who didn't know that name?
Derek was the only son of the current President.
"Michael, nice to meet you," Levi quickly extended his hand, all excited, "I'm Levi."
Derek shook his hand with a lot of poise but didn't let go right away. Instead, he said with a half-smile, "I know, Levi's movies are pretty popular. Handsome and charming, I quite like them."
Levi was stunned, then he remembered the news a few days ago about Derek. Although Derek had cleared things up at the time, many people didn't buy it. Now, with Derek's words, could it be that he had taken a liking to him?
At this thought, Levi's handsome face turned red.
Levi knew he was good-looking. After he got into the industry, many wealthy women and even businessmen had thought about keeping him.
But Levi had no interest in that at all.
However, Derek's status was different from those he had encountered before. If Levi rejected Derek, it would be easy for Derek to blacklist him.
What should he do?
Should Levi firmly reject or reluctantly agree?
"Your hand is very smooth," Derek suddenly said.
While Levi was still struggling, Derek had already smiled and touched the back of his hand.
Levi's body trembled.
Laura, standing nearby, was already dumbfounded.
She heard Derek hinting at Levi and saw Derek touching Levi's hand.
Levi was her idol for years. As a man, how could Levi not reject or push Derek away, and even blush shyly?
What she couldn't stand even more was Derek. How could Derek flirt with a man in front of her?
Did Derek really like men that much? Wasn't he about to marry Blair?
She was simply furious with Derek.
"Derek." She angrily called his name and then dragged Derek to the back lounge.
In the distance, Bernice and Cassie saw this scene.
Bernice raised an eyebrow, "So you did it on purpose to provoke Derek?"
Cassie smiled wryly, "Yeah, but it isn't heading where I thought."
Cassie had thought Derek would angrily take Laura away from Levi, then confess and declare his sovereignty, making Laura the dominant one in their relationship.
It seemed that not all men were like Joseph. Cassie had completely underestimated Derek's shamelessness.
Cassie beckoned to Magnus, "Handle that scene just now, no photos can be leaked."
If photos of Derek touching Levi's hand were taken, Cassie would be in big trouble.
In the lounge, after Laura pulled Derek in, she slammed the door shut.
"Derek, are you crazy?" Laura shouted.
Laura, trembling, glared at the man in front of her. "With so many people around, you actually hit on Levi in public. You're too shameless. Don't forget, you're dating Blair, and you still have a man you like in your heart. I really don't get how you became like this. If word gets out about you touching Levi's hand, all the scandals Magnolia and Carl worked so hard to bury will come back. Don't you get it?"
"Relax, Cassie’s smart. She won’t let that happen."
Derek showed no sign of panic.
The calmer he was, the angrier Laura got. She blurted out, "If you like guys so much, don't date girls."
"Who said I like guys?" Derek raised an eyebrow.
"Everyone knows. I just saw it with my own eyes. You looked really sleazy." Laura paused for a moment, then said, very disappointed and irritated.
It wasn't the first time she had seen such a scene. She had seen many gay men. She supported true love and wouldn't despise them, but Derek's behavior made it impossible for her to accept.
In her heart, he shouldn't be like this.
"Is that so?" Derek didn’t get angry at all. "I have no interest in Levi. I did that just to show you what kind of person your idol is."
"You're lying." Laura didn’t believe him at all, thinking he was just making excuses.
Derek suddenly walked closer to her. "I'm telling the truth."
"Weren't you chatting happily with him all night? But he actually likes men. Didn't you see how red his face got when I hinted at him?"
Laura was furious, looking up angrily, but she found their bodies almost touching. She instinctively took a step back. "He was forced by you, okay? Levi is not gay."
"Fine, even if he's not, did he push me away when I hinted? He's a wuss," Derek added.
As she retreated, Derek kept advancing, cornering her against the cabinet.
Laura had nowhere to go and was rendered speechless by Derek's words.
She had to admit, Derek was right. She had thought Levi was quite brave, but it was all just a fantasy brought by his on-screen roles.
At this point, Levi's image in her heart completely collapsed. She might never be able to like Levi again.
But she still struggled to argue, "Do you know how hard it was for Levi to get to where he is today? You're high and mighty. If he offends you, you can blacklist him with just a word. You're bullying him with your power."
Derek smiled coldly. "Just because of status, power, and position, he can lose his dignity? So you like a wuss."
"So what if I like him? It's none of your business." Laura blurted out in anger.
"Of course, it's my business because I like you," Derek said hoarsely, then suddenly reached out to pin her against the cabinet, enclosing her in his arms, and kissed her forcefully.
In Laura's mind, it was as if thousands of bombs exploded.
Just like the night they went to the amusement park and rode the Ferris wheel together.
When the Ferris wheel reached its highest point, the entire dark night sky was brilliantly lit.
She was almost dizzy.
