Chapter 1490 Cassie is Impressive

"What do you wanna do?" Laura asked, genuinely curious.

Cassie grinned. "Honestly, Megan doesn't even like Michael. She's just using him. I think she's more into Joseph, but she can't handle him."

"Totally. If Lucas had shown any interest in Megan back then, she wouldn't have picked Michael. Lucas might be a jerk, but he's got skills," Laura said.

Cassie smirked, "So, let's say Megan and Michael get married, do you think Megan would ditch Michael for a richer man if Michael's career keep tanking."

Laura, munching on an orange, almost choked. "Are you trying to get Megan to cheat on Michael?"

"Michael cheated on you and wrecked your marriage. Don't you want him to feel the same betrayal from Megan?" Cassie teased. "Or do you still feel bad for him?"

Laura cursed in frustration, "Hell no, I don't feel sorry for him. After what he did to me, I'll never forget it."

"Good, as long as you don't feel sorry for him," Cassie said, relieved. "Michael's a nobody in Whisperlyn City now. I've teamed up with some big beauty companies to take advantage of the bad press around Ocean Blue and bring it down. In about a year, when Ocean Blue can't hold on anymore, I'll buy it out."

Laura looked puzzled. "What are you talking about? I'm lost."

"Michael's betrayal of you caused a huge scandal. I've been stirring the pot with other beauty companies. Ocean Blue is facing a lot of backlash from women. You know, most skincare buyers are women, and Michael's behavior has pissed them off nationwide. Ocean Blue had a big market in Madison, and a lot of companies have been gunning for it. In this digital age, a company's reputation is everything. I'm wrecking Ocean Blue's rep," Cassie explained.

"Wow, that's impressive," Laura said. "What happens next?"

"Michael's got some skills, so he'll try to bounce back. But now that he's lost the inheritance rights to the Jude Group, who's gonna help him? Lucas might, but I'll have Joseph keep Lucas busy, so he won't help Michael."

Cassie went on, "Even if Ocean Blue survives this mess, its reputation will be trashed, and no one will buy its stuff. It won't last long. Meanwhile, I'll keep rolling out our new products. We'll also get into beauty salons, home care products, and other chains, making DreamDazzle Beauty Co huge. As for Ocean Blue, within two years, I'll buy it and make Michael work for us."

Laura was speechless.

Laura wondered if her company could really grow that big.

"Cassie, how'd you come up with such a wild and ambitious plan?"

"Seeing you in the hospital after Michael kicked you, I just couldn't take it," Cassie said fiercely. "I won't rest until I bring his company down. Back when I had nothing, I made the Peace Group successful. Now that I've got money, power, and connections, I know I can turn DreamDazzle Beauty Co into a global brand."

Laura chuckled, "If you were here right now, I'd totally bow down to you."

"Don't bow. Just get better and get back to the lab to whip up some new products," Cassie said. "Besides beauty stuff, you can also work on skincare, shampoo, and body wash."

Laura glanced at her injured chest, itching to rip off her bandages and dive back into the lab.

Taking over Ocean Blue? Why didn't she think of that?

Laura couldn't wait to see Michael get betrayed by Megan.

It would be one of the sweetest moments ever.

At 5:30 PM, the nanny had just finished cooking when Derek walked in with a bunch of stuff.

Laura eyed the shopping bags and asked, "Why are you back so early? Done with work already?"

"I had some errands to run, so I didn't go back to the office."

Derek walked over to the crib and pulled out a toy phone from the bag, placing it in Maeve's tiny hand.

Maeve heard the music and giggled happily.

"You got Maeve another toy?" Laura thought Derek was spoiling Maeve too much.

"I saw it while grocery shopping, so I grabbed it," Derek said with a smile. "There are tons of kids' toys at the supermarket. Too bad Maeve's still too young. When she's older, I'll get her a play kitchen set and Barbie dolls."

He then said to Maeve, "Maeve, grow up fast. I'll get you whatever you want."

Laura, feeling a bit envious, joked, "Maeve says she wants a big castle."

"I can't do a big castle, but I can help you find an old foreign guy who owns one," Derek said with a grin.

"Derek!" Laura squinted, annoyed. "What do you mean? Just because I'm divorced, you think I can only end up with an old man?"

Derek shrugged innocently. "These days, with all the environmental stuff, big castles aren't really built anymore. The ones that exist are usually owned by old men. Even if they have descendants, those living in big castles are likely old men. Finding one who can inherit a big castle is like rolling dice."

Laura was silent.

She couldn't argue with that.

"So forget about big castles. Our Presidential Palace isn't too shabby," Derek said as he headed to the kitchen.

Laura was stunned for a moment, then wheeled herself over to Maeve. She picked up the toy phone and pressed it, playing several nursery rhymes.

Half an hour later, the dining table was loaded with steaming roasted meat.

There was lamb, beef, and more.

After taking a bite of lamb, Laura said, "This is so delicious. How can it be this good?"

"You can have as much as you can if you like it. There's enough for you," Derek said, placing a piece of beef on her plate.
