Chapter 985 Were You Responsible For Me?
Laura frowned. She never used to like street food and didn't understand why so many people loved such a smelly thing. However, in the past month, she found herself obsessed with them.
Now, Laura realized it was because she was pregnant.
"You're wrong. I only started liking them because I'm pregnant. It's the baby who wants it," Laura said.
"My baby would never love such a stinky thing." Without another word, Michael took all the junk food in front of Laura and threw it in the trash.
Laura was furious. "Michael, no! It costs a lot."
Michael was also angry. "Costs a lot? You live in a duplex costs 140 thousand dollars, earn over one thousand dollars a month, and have millions dollars from the Ocean Blue group. How can you say it costs a lot?"
"Isn't it? It really costs a lot," Laura remarked.
"Shut up." Michael couldn't take it anymore. "Laura, I'm warning you, you are not allowed to eat junk food and harm my child."
"Child?" Laura's eyes reddened. "This child shouldn't even exist. If it weren't for your family stopping me, I would have already had an abortion."
Michael felt a pang of discomfort, remembering what Caroline had said. "The baby is already a life. If it hears you say such things, it will feel bad."
Laura was stunned, pondering, 'Is it a life? Could it feel bad? Does Michael think I am stupid? He behaves like a crazy person today.'
"You don't want to abort the baby? That's not like you," Laura said. "You would go against the world for Megan. You don't even take your own parents seriously. You could do anything for Megan."
Michael was silent, cursing inwardly, 'Damn it. This woman really drives me crazy. Am I that stupid?'
As Michael was silent, Laura said, "Michael, I know you don't like me. We should be united regarding this matter. You need to help me persuade your family. Any woman can have a child; it doesn't have to be me."
"You think I don't want to? I tried, but my grandpa said..." Michael's beautiful, expressive eyes showed a hint of grievance and loneliness. "If I don't take responsibility, I won't be part of the Jude family anymore, and my dad will publicly disown me."
"Then let them disown you," Laura said casually. "You're someone who values love above all. You can sacrifice everything for love, don't you?"
"Shut up." Michael wished he could shut Laura up. And he did, covering Laura's lips with his hand.
Michael's hand was large, and Laura's face was small. His palm covered half her face, and the soft, smooth skin filled with collagen was so elastic that he pressed it lightly, feeling strange.
"Laura, your face is so small," Michael said.
Being touched on the face by a man, Laura blushed.
Laura pushed Michael's hand away and glared at him with her mixed-race eyes. "Michael, can you stop touching my face like a pervert?"
"I'm a pervert?" Michael was shocked, but thinking back, he realized he had touched her out of instinct. His handsome face showed a trace of embarrassment.
"Stop talking. It's so annoying," Laura said.
"Same here. Hearing your voice gives me a headache," Michael replied.
Laura was annoyed from Michael's arguing. She was already quite hungry, and with the junk food thrown away, she was even hungrier.
"You threw away my food, so you have to cook for me. I'm hungry."
Michael glanced at Laura's belly. He didn't want to cook, but considering that if he didn't, Laura might take their child out to eat junk food, he agreed.
However, when he opened the fridge, there was nothing.
Michael sighed. "Laura, you're a woman. Can't you be a bit more domestic? There's not even an egg in the house. Who would want to live with you?"
"I eat at the office every day. I'm exhausted from working for you, and you expect me to cook when I get home? How unreasonable," Laura retorted. "Don't look at me. Megan isn't any better. She has a nanny."
"You're lying. Megan sometimes cooks herself," Michael said.
"Once a week? I can do that, too," Laura remarked.
Michael fell silent. He couldn't win an argument with Laura.
In the end, Michael made some spaghetti. Laura reminded him, "I like spicy food."
Michael's heart skipped a beat, wondering whether his child liked to eat spicy.
Michael said to himself inwardly, 'Wait. What am I thinking? Why am I thinking about the baby? What about Megan?'
Michael made two plates of spaghetti without any spicy.
Laura glanced at it, then went to the kitchen, opened the cabinet, and reached for the hot sauce.
But before she could get it, a tall shadow loomed over her. Michael moved her hand away and closed the cabinet door. "You shouldn't eat such spicy food when you're pregnant."
Laura turned angrily, her eyes meeting Michael's neck. It was long and had a sexy Adam's apple.
Michael didn't notice and continued, "If you want spicy food, I'll make some spicy dishes tonight."
"Michael, what are you trying to do?" Laura suddenly looked up, her beautiful face showing confusion. "Are you trying totake responsibility for me?"
Michael was momentarily speechless. He couldn't understand why he had said that.
Maybe it had to do with Michael's family environment. Every man in the Jude family had a sense of responsibility and duty.
"I haven't decided yet." Michael turned away, frustrated, and started eating his spaghetti.
Laura was stunned. "What's there to decide? You will definitely choose Megan."
A look of pain crossed Michael's handsome face. "You think I don't want to? My grandpa said a man must have responsibility. Maybe Megan and I are just not meant to be."
Laura was taken aback. Michael was actually quite simple, but unfortunately, the women Michael got involved with were not.
