Chapter 1346 Never Leaving You Alone Again

"You can't handle it after just one day? Think about how Everett felt when you locked him up," Cassie said, her eyes cold as ice. "You brought this mess on yourself."

"You bitch," David spat, his voice dripping with hatred. "I should've let you die instead of taking that knife for you."

"Shut up," Joseph growled, kicking him to the ground.

Cassie sighed. She didn't want to be here, knowing David would just hurl insults. He'd never own up to his mistakes. "David, I'm here to clear something up. The day Joseph fell down the stairs and lost his memory, was that Megan's doing? Where is she?"

"And those drugs given to Isabella back then, were they from Megan too? When did you two start scheming together?"

"I don't know what you're talking about," David sneered. "You want Megan, right? Fine, let me go, and I'll help you nail her."

"You want me to let you go? Keep dreaming," Declan said, his face a mask of indifference.

"Then take me back to the police station," David gritted his teeth. "Spare me the death penalty. You want Megan in jail, don't you?"

"Answer Ms. Brooks' questions honestly," the head bodyguard stepped forward, grabbing David by the collar. "Or I'll make your life a living hell."

"Haha, my life is already a living hell. My limbs are useless," David laughed like a madman. "I won't talk unless you agree to my terms."

Cassie frowned, her eyes icy. "You don’t want to talk, fine. Megan's despicable, but I'll find a way to drag her out. But you, I'll never let you go."

"Fine, you'll regret it, Cassie. Trust me, you'll regret it."

David smirked, thinking, 'Megan is more cunning and smarter than Olivia. Cassie doesn't want me to have it easy? No problem. As long as Megan is still out there, she's like a ticking time bomb.'

"How much trouble can Megan cause now?" Cassie sneered, turning to leave. She thought, 'This is probably the last time I'll see David.'

After leaving Declan's villa, Cassie's beautiful face was clouded.

Cassie had hoped to get some info about Megan. She hated Megan to the core, but David refused to spill anything.

She felt a bit overwhelmed. After the incident with Olivia, Megan's existence felt like a bomb, ready to go off at any moment. Catching Megan might even help treat Joseph's condition.

As she was feeling agitated, she turned her head and saw Joseph smiling beside her, looking very pleased.

"What are you smiling about? Happy we can't find any dirt on Megan?" Cassie snapped.

Joseph was taken aback. "Who's Megan? I've never seen her, and I have no memory of her."

"She's your first girlfriend," Cassie snapped. "She's the one who caused all this."

"I know," Joseph said, looking at her angry yet captivating face. "I'm smiling because you care about me. Are you trying to find Megan to restore my memory?"

Cassie, feeling embarrassed, snapped, "You got it all wrong. I want to catch Megan because she messed with my friend's family."

"I didn't get it wrong," Joseph suddenly grabbed her hand tightly. "Cassie, you want me to remember everything, but either way, I love you."

"Don't be so full of yourself," Cassie was truly defeated by his shamelessness. "Even if I help you remember, it's not because I want to get back together, okay?"

"I know, but even though we've broken up, you still care about whether I get my memory back, which means you still care about me," Joseph said with a smile. "The only memory I have left is of you taking advantage of me while I was confused and in the shower. You have to take responsibility for that."

"Get lost!" Cassie blushed furiously.

"I won't."

Instead of letting go, Joseph pulled her into his arms.

Joseph lowered his head, his hot lips pressing against hers.

He had been suppressing his feelings for too long.

Not just today, but in recent days, every time Joseph saw her pushing him away, his heart ached and burned, but he couldn't say anything.

Originally, he didn't want to rush things, but when she was interrogating David earlier, he knew she still had feelings for him.

"Joseph, let go."

Cassie pounded on his shoulders.

But Joseph's lips remained domineering, even wantonly exploring her mouth.

She was so embarrassed and thought shyly, 'This jerk, we're still in the car, and even if Declan isn't here, his driver is right up front.'

"I'm not letting go," Joseph flipped her onto the back seat, his lips close to hers, his fingers threading through her hair. "Cassie, I never want to let go in this lifetime. You say I lost my memory and don't know what love is. Well, let me tell you, I can't sleep at night thinking about you. That day near the Hernandez Group, when Marigold bullied you, right here," he placed her hand on his chest, "it hurt so much I almost went crazy. I wanted to kill Marigold on the spot. When I was with Marigold, whether watching a movie or eating, I thought of you. This morning, when you said you wanted to start a new relationship, I was insanely jealous. I was terrified you'd meet a new man and leave me. Now, holding your hand, I feel so sweet. Kissing you like this, I'm so satisfied and happy. If this isn't love, then what is?"

He stared at her intensely, his eyes filled with overwhelming emotion.

Cassie looked at his flawless, handsome face and suddenly didn't know what to say. Even her heart started beating rapidly. She questioned, 'Yes, if this isn't love, then what is? But...'

"Don't be afraid. I promise, I'll never forget you again. I swear, I'll never leave you alone again."

Joseph's magnetic, seductive voice rang out again.

Cassie stiffened and pondered, 'Yes, why am I pushing him away? I'm just afraid of always being left behind. We've been together for so long, and I'm the only one who remembered.'
