Chapter 66

"It was indeed possible.

With this thought, she no longer felt upset.

She changed into a white dress and went downstairs. Unexpectedly, she saw Joseph smoking.

He rarely smoked; today was the first time.

But he looked handsome and charming while smoking, proving that good-looking men could make anything look attractive.

""Joey, is this dress okay?"" Cassie walked up to him and discreetly tugged on his sleeve.

Joseph glanced at her. She was dressed decently this time, but she still looked ethereal and elegant, destined to become a beautiful sight tonight.

He suddenly regretted taking her out; she should be hidden away.

""Let's go."" Joseph stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray and walked out.

Cassie walked slowly, holding the hem of her dress. Joseph frowned. He approached her and lifted her up in his arms.

Instinctively, she wrapped her arms around his neck and looked up at his chin.

Without thinking, the words slipped out of her mouth: ""You didn't let me wear that blue dress. Is it true that you don't want me to wear revealing clothes because you care?""

After saying that, the air grew tense. Joseph gazed down at her with a deep, ambiguous smile. ""Have you lost your mind?""

Cassie bit her tongue and scorned silently in her heart.

After they descended the stairs, Joseph ushered her into the backseat. His tone was laced with mocking laughter. ""You are my wife. I don't want you to dress inappropriately and become the subject of ridicule.""

Cassie's face flushed with anger. She didn't want to talk to him throughout the journey.

The car drove into the Collins family estate, where guests gathered tonight. Rows of luxury cars were parked outside in the parking lot.

However, Cassie didn't see any cars from the Brooks family and the Lewis family. She felt a little regretful. If Arthur came and saw her holding his uncle's hand, he would surely be surprised.

As they walked in, Cassie linked her arm with Joseph's. He looked at her and said, ""Tonight, you can announce publicly that you are my girlfriend.""

Cassie's eyes lit up, but Joseph quickly poured cold water on her enthusiasm. ""Don't get too excited. I just don't want Grandpa Collins to introduce potential partners to me.""

Cassie was speechless. No wonder he brought her along against all odds.

""Alright, I am willing to shelter you from the wind and sun, and hold up the blue sky of love for you..."" Before she could finish her act, a woman wearing a champagne-colored dress walked over elegantly.

""Joseph, long time no see.""

Cassie couldn't continue the act any longer. Wasn't this Princess Ava from the Collins family? She was also Noah's sister. Cassie had seen her from afar once during a banquet. Her affectionate expression was on par with Cassie's.

""Joseph, is auntie doing well? I haven't seen her for a long time. I miss her!"" Ava pouted.

Joseph gave a simple reply. ""She's doing well.""

Ava pouted even more. ""Joseph, you're so mean. You've been in Madison for so long, but you never came to see me. Do you remember your promise? You promised me that you would come to my violin concert, but you never fulfilled it."" Her eyes showed resentment toward Joseph.

Cassie was speechless. Was she standing here all alone, like a ghost?

""Ahem, Joey, can you introduce me to her? Who is she?"" She tugged on Joseph's arm, posing like a woman who cared for her beloved. "
