Chapter 1015 Do I Need to Hide?

Joseph grinned. "It was in a pitch-black place..."

Coco, watching from the sidelines, sensed trouble brewing. Worried Joseph might say something that could tarnish Cassie's reputation, he quickly intervened, pulling Joseph aside. "Mr. Hernandez, you and Mrs. Brooks have been divorced for ages. Can you stop bothering her? If you keep talking like this, it could mess up her marriage."

"Isn't that just perfect?" Joseph smirked, already a pro at causing chaos.

Coco's eye twitched. "No, you can't do that."

"I can be a simp," Joseph shot back.

Coco was speechless. He stared at Joseph's arrogant, handsome face, baffled by what had turned him into this shameless version of himself.

'Had he no pride left?'

"If you don't let me in, I'll just wait here." Joseph sighed. "If people ask, I'll have to tell them how Mrs. Brooks almost cried last night thinking I was dead."

Coco's scalp tingled. He turned around and quietly called Cassie to report the situation.

Cassie's beautiful face darkened when she know the situation. "Don't listen to his nonsense. I didn't cry at all."

"Mrs. Brooks, that's not the point. If he spreads this around, it won't be good for your reputation."

Coco lowered his voice. "I feel like Mr. Hernandez has changed."

Cassie rubbed her forehead and finally said, "Fine, bring him in through the parking lot. Don't let anyone see him."

If rumors reached David, it would be a mess.

In the end, Joseph took the CEO's private elevator from the parking lot. Coco was super cautious the whole way. As they exited the elevator, he grumbled, "Why do you want to be a homewrecker? Homewreckers can only sneak around."

"It doesn't matter. For her, I can sneak around forever," Joseph said nonchalantly.

Coco shivered at Joseph's words.

Once inside the office, Joseph walked in, and Coco quickly shut the door. Joseph smiled at Cassie. "Cassie, don't you think we look like we're having an affair?"

Cassie already felt guilty towards David. Hearing those words, she angrily grabbed the mouse on the table and threw it at him. "Shut up."

"Alright, people who feel guilty usually tell others to shut up. I get it." Joseph mimed zipping his lips and then smiled mysteriously.

Cassie was almost infuriated. She really wished Joseph could go back to being his high-and-mighty, arrogant self.

She had no idea how to deal with him now that he was so shameless and clingy.

Taking a deep breath, she sneered. "Stop being a simp!"

"No, being a simp is a way for a man to show he cares about a woman. I didn't get it before, but I can learn now." Joseph suddenly realized that once he got used to being shameless in front of her.

Cassie was speechless. Fortunately, she had prepared before letting him come up.

"Alright, then eat this." She pulled out a piece of raw beef from the drawer and tossed it on the floor. She'd had someone send it up.

Joseph's handsome face darkened instantly. After a moment, under Cassie's watchful eyes, he picked up the raw beef and took a bite.

Cassie's eyes widened. She'd only meant to humiliate him a bit, hoping he'd back off, but she didn't expect him to actually eat it.

She quickly stood up. "Joseph, I was joking."

The pungent smell hit his nose, and Joseph almost gagged, but he forced himself to swallow. "Cassie, I know you want me to leave, but I don't want to go. It's just a piece of raw beef; it's nothing compared to the hardships you've endured."

After saying that, he took another bite, his white teeth stained with blood, but he smiled. "You must hate me so much."

"Spit it out." Seeing him continue to bite down, Cassie couldn't bear it anymore. She rushed over and snatched the beef from his hand, tossing it into the trash.

Despite everything she'd been through, she'd become very rational and calm, but recently, he had been pushing her to the edge.

"Alright, if you don't want me to eat, I'll stop." Joseph looked at her with a tender smile, as if she had given him a piece of sweet chocolate.

Facing this Joseph, Cassie felt completely helpless. "Joseph, don't be so stubborn"

"I made you a lunchbox." Joseph pulled out the lunch he had prepared for her that morning. "Thank you for helping me yesterday."

Cassie gritted her teeth. "If I had known you were this difficult, I wouldn't have helped you yesterday."

"If you hadn't helped me, I would still come to thank you. After all, it was my love for you that kept me going and helped me escape yesterday. In any case, you are my savior." Joseph opened the lunchbox. "Although it's not as good as what you make, it's still edible."

"Thanks, but I've already had lunch." Cassie didn't want to obediently eat what he made.

"At this time, you couldn't have had lunch yet, Cassie. Don't go against your stomach." Joseph handed her a fork. "Try it. This is the steak I made. You used to make it for me, and now I'll make it for you."

Cassie looked at the steak, feeling conflicted. Yes, she used to make it for him.

Suddenly, Coco's raised voice came from outside. "Mr. Foster, what brings you here?"

Cassie's hands trembled violently, and David's voice followed. "I came to see Cassie."

Cassie panicked when Joseph suddenly leaned close to her ear and asked in a husky voice, "Do you need me to hide?"

Cassie's mouth twitched, thinking, 'You really have a sense of self-awareness. But we haven't done anything. If Joseph hid, it would be even harder to explain. If he didn't hide, David would definitely misunderstand.'

While she was thinking, Joseph had already quickly hidden in her lounge.

His practiced movements left Cassie dumbfounded.
