Chapter 465

With a firm press of his lips, Joseph silently started the car.

The journey to the bar was a swift one. Nathan Zenith, nursing his injured waist, had been patiently waiting at the entrance. As Joseph approached, Nathan grimaced, "Joseph, they're still inside, dancing."

His words had barely left his lips when three women stumbled out, arm in arm. Their unsteady gaits and flushed cheeks were clear indicators of their intoxication.

"I'm not done drinking. I'm up for another round," Laura Miller declared with a raised hand. "Tonight, we don't stop until we drop."

"Let's grab some lobster first, and crack open a few cold ones," Nina suggested, her voice filled with anticipation.

"And then we continue at my beach house 'til dawn," Cassie added, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

"Awesome, this is the life! Men are such trash; let's ditch them."

"Trash, beat it."

Joseph's face darkened considerably at their words.

So, they had been bad-mouthing him behind his back, calling him trash.

With a determined stride, he approached Cassie, "We're going home."

He had initially planned for her to spend some time away to avoid causing her any distress, but it was evident that he couldn't stick to that plan any longer.

"Who—you—what?" Cassie’s head spun as she looked up. Images of Joyce Ray giving him a massage flashed through her mind. Suddenly feeling nauseous, she retched, splattering half of her drink onto his clothes, the rest onto the ground.

"Cassie." Joseph's voice was a low growl, his teeth grinding with each syllable.

"Joseph," Joyce Ray rushed over, attempting to clean up the mess from Cassie.

Laura Miller, witnessing the scene, charged in a rage, her purse swinging at Joyce Ray's head. "You home-wrecker! Were you desperate in your last life, always tailing along without shame?"

Joyce staggered from the blow, a cry of pain escaping her lips.

Cassie watched with a twisted sense of satisfaction, stepping forward with feigned concern. "Laura, stop that..."

Her words suggested sympathy, but her actions spoke otherwise as she tripped Joyce Ray, causing her to land amidst the vomit. Cassie even stepped on her a few times as Joyce Ray, wailing in pain, clung onto Joseph's trouser leg. "Joseph, save me..."

"Enough!" Joseph yanked Joyce Ray behind him, his glare landing on the two women, "Laura, I can't believe how classless you are. Cassie, just look at yourself—you're a mess! I told you to stay away from Nina, and here you are, drinking with her. Did my words just go in one ear and out the other?"

Cassie scratched her ear nonchalantly. "What are you on about? I have no clue what you're saying."

Laura burst out laughing, "Cassie, you see, our standards are too low to have a conversation with them."

"Exactly."

Cassie nodded in agreement. "Let's get out of here."

Joseph felt a pang of frustration, a sense of being completely ignored, as if he were invisible. It was suffocating.

"Stop right there. You're my wife, and I'm telling you to come home with me now." Joseph once again grabbed her wrist, his gaze dark and foreboding. "Don't test my limits."
