Chapter 1092 Megan Already Looks Down Upon Him
"How come?" David suddenly turned around, his eyes filled with malice. "Who did this?"
"It should be the Nelson family," Molly said, "Half of the hospitals in Madison were under the Nelson family. With just one word, they could ban our drugs from being used there."
"Lucas." David squinted, pondering, 'Lucas is Joseph's good friend. He dares oppose me for Joseph. Very well.'
After a moment, David took a drag of his cigarette and slowly spoke, "Lucas is supposed to marry Sarah later this year, right?"
"Yes." Molly nodded, sighing. "Sarah is so lucky. Ever since she hooked up with Lucas, her career in the film industry has been thriving. She had some negative news before, but recently, Lucas invested heavily in helping her make a comeback. I've heard that Sarah has gotten quite close to the Nelsons. Their wedding is almost on the agenda."
"Sarah is impressive indeed. Lucas, a playboy, finally fell for Sarah." David chuckled. "Sarah and I have some connections, too. We're both from Silverwood and have met a few times before."
Over the years, Olivia, Megan, Cassie, and David had been fighting tooth and nail, but Sarah had managed to stay out of it and was now about to marry into the Nelson family.
David thought to himself, 'It's time to make use of Sarah. But I have to wait for Olivia to come back.'
"Mr. Foster, what should we do now? Should we ask the Chamberlain family for help?" Molly asked tentatively.
"Yes, we do need it. I can't just work for them for so many years for nothing," David said, "Since my true nature has been exposed, I might as well stop pretending. I've been pretending for decades, and I'm tired. By the way, where's Kathleen?"
Molly was stunned for a moment. "She's at the company."
David squinted, about to speak.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, and Kathleen burst in. "David, is what Cassie said true? You didn't lose your kidney."
"Kathleen, I'm sorry. I just wanted to be with her too much back then." David's face immediately showed pain and guilt. "I'm sorry for making you and Mom and Dad worry."
"How could you lie about something like that?" Kathleen looked disappointed. "You even asked for my help this morning. Are you kidding me?"
"I didn't expect Cassie to find evidence so quickly. But, Kathleen, about Arthur, you mustn't believe her," David said while carefully observing Kathleen.
"David, I'm sorry. I did have some doubts earlier and even called Cassie to ask her to show the evidence. But after asking for a long time, she couldn't produce the message Arthur supposedly sent her before he died," Kathleen said angrily, "I almost fell for her trick."
"Kathleen, Arthur is my family, and he has worked for me. How could I harm him over Lola? It's ridiculous," David said with a bitter smile, but he felt relieved. He also found it strange that Cassie had received a message from Arthur. He had checked Arthur's phone at the time, and there were no message records.
"Luckily, I was cautious and checked Arthur's phone. By the way, the company's situation isn't good. What are you planning to do?" Kathleen asked.
David brushed her off with a few words and sent her away.
After Kathleen left, David turned to Molly and said, "Keep a close eye on Kathleen lately."
Molly was stunned. "You still suspect her?"
"Just in case," David said calmly. He couldn't afford any mistakes.
Downstairs, after Kathleen had just returned to her office, she felt weak all over.
She had called Kayla, who didn't say it directly but hinted that Cassie's words were credible.
Kathleen thought to herself, 'David might have really killed Arthur. Arthur is my son, and David is my brother. How come? What should I do?'
Kathleen's eyes reddened with pain. Arthur was dead, and she felt life had no meaning anymore. But now, she had to avenge him.
However, Cassie's warning made her cautious.
She suspected David was already watching her. If David could kill Arthur, he could eliminate her, too.
The urgent task was to regain David's trust and find evidence against him.
She also wanted to understand why David had become so terrifying and what he had been planning all this time.
In a bar's private room, Lucas wore a pair of gold-rimmed glasses on his nose, and the light from his phone reflected on his incredibly handsome face.
Sarah sent a voice message: [Lucas, I'm at your villa. Where are you? When are you coming back?]
Lucas replied: [No.] He then tossed his phone onto the table.
Michael glanced at it and hooked his arm around Lucas's shoulder, looking touched. "Lucas, you know I'm in a bad mood, so you won't even go home. Come on, cheers, let's sleep together tonight."
"Get lost." Lucas gave him a disdainful look. "Sleep with your Megan."
"I've never slept with Megan," Michael suddenly said, embarrassed.
Lucas looked at him with a strange expression. "Is there no snap in your turtle, too?"
"Of course not, I'm not Joseph!" Michael's face turned red with anger. "I just think she's my goddess, and I want to wait until we're married."
Lucas sneered in his mind, 'Come on! Who knows how many men Megan had been with.'
"I'm not you," Michael said, holding his wine glass, "Love is sacred. I may like to have fun outside, but I'm still very conservative."
"Alright, stop talking. I'm afraid I'll barf," Lucas said, exasperated, "If your love is so sacred, why don't you go find it instead of always calling me out?"
Michael's eyes dimmed. "Megan has been very busy lately. There are a lot of patients with psychological issues at the hospital."
"Really?" Lucas didn't believe it at all.
Lucas thought Megan must have looked down upon Michael as he was kicked out of the Jude family.
"Don't you believe me?" Michael was unhappy.
"I didn't say anything," Lucas said, drinking his wine.
Lucas and Michael sat for a while, suddenly feeling bored. They decided to go somewhere else for a late-night snack.
Just as they left the private room, Michael suddenly saw Megan being held by Jacob Henderson as they walked into the elevator.
