Chapter 798
Joseph, sitting in the driver's seat, had a rather complex and unpleasant expression on his face. Did she respect Liam like this? She didn't even ask; she just came straight down.
Sooner or later, Joseph would have to change all of Cassie's bad habits and let her know that she needed to keep her distance from Liam.
Before long, Cassie appeared in the sight of Sophia and Joseph.
Sophia opened the window excitedly and waved her hand.
Cassie immediately walked over in this direction, and Joseph quickly got out of the car, opened the back door, and stated, "We're taking Sophia to see a movie."
"I..." Cassie moved her lips.
Joseph took out his phone and showed the ticket code inside. "I've already bought the tickets; they can't be refunded."
Cassie glanced at it, very angry, and then asked, "You're taking me to see Tom and Jerry?"
"Aunt Cassie, I wanted to see Tom and Jerry." Sophia looked up at Cassie pitifully, then said, "I've never been to a movie theater before."
Cassie was helpless. Could she take Sophia to the cinema? Sophia only watched children's movies, and she didn't want to endure two hours of Tom and Jerry with Sophia. It was too painful.
"You little trickster." Cassie tugged at Sophia's ear and answered.
Sophia said pitifully, "I'm sorry. If I hadn't said I was going with Dad, you wouldn't have come down."
"I knew you were lying a long time ago," Cassie said unkindly.
Joseph's eyes lit up, staring at her with a complex expression and asked, "So... you didn't come down because of Liam?"
Cassie stared at Joseph with big eyes, looking angry but more like the kind of glaring that couples do.
Joseph smiled, watching Cassie's angry look. He found it very cute and inexplicably wanted to lean over and kiss Cassie.
Joseph eventually decided to go to a family-friendly restaurant for lunch with Sophia.
They had steak pizza.
Joseph thought it was just average, not as delicious as Cassie's cooking, so he ate a little and stopped.
Sophia blinked and said, "Uncle Joseph, you're wasting it by not finishing it, and if you don't eat enough, your stomach will get hungry."
"It's okay. I have leftovers from last night's dinner at home, so I can go back and eat," Joseph said, staring at Cassie. His gaze was very gentle, and Cassie almost choked on her drink. When their eyes met, her cheeks blushed slightly, like a delicate rose on the table.
Joseph felt particularly happy watching this, feeling a bit like the sudden heart-pounding feeling in a romantic movie. He never had this feeling when he was dating Megan in college, and now he felt like a naive young man.
"Leftover dinner from last night?" Sophia couldn't believe it. "Isn't that bad? It's been too long. I heard that eating too many leftovers is bad for your health."
"You don't understand. There's sugar in my leftovers." Joseph's gaze never left Cassie across from him.
Sophia nodded, then asked, "What kind of sugar are you talking about?"
"The kind of sugar you don't know about." Joseph smiled slightly. "That kind of sugar, when you eat it, your heart will feel sweet."
This time, Cassie really couldn't stand it.
It was always like this before; every time Joseph, that arrogant, sarcastic, and malicious man, said sweet words, Cassie couldn't bear it.
