Chapter 44 No wonder he broke up with you
Hearing Matthew's voice, Olivia's expression changed slightly, but she quickly regained her composure. She spoke with a grievance, "Where did you find someone to make this random recording? Who is Matthew? I don't even know him."
Cassie turned to Robert, her eyes red. "Dad, Olivia transferred hundreds of thousands of dollars to Matthew's account. You can check it easily. She grew up in the countryside and only started learning design after you took her in. How could she possibly create such sophisticated work in such a short time?"
"Dad, Mom, I really didn't do it," Olivia said, starting to cry.
Helen frowned and reached out. "Cassie, let me see the recording."
Cassie obediently handed over her phone, and Helen opened the recording file and deleted it.
"Mom, why did you delete it?" Cassie was completely shocked, and it was too late to snatch the phone back.
Helen's eyes turned cold. "I can't let an unverified recording ruin Olivia's reputation and future. You need to stop."
A wave of coldness swept over Cassie, making her shiver.
Cassie let out a bitter laugh. "I get it now. You don't care about the truth; you only care about her. Why are you so cruel? I'm your daughter, too."
Robert slammed the table and stood up. "I should never have had you. Look at the mess you've made with those live streams, ruining your reputation. Who would want you now? What did you do to offend someone so badly that several major projects at Height Architectural Decoration Company got ruined?"
"I don't know what you're talking about," Cassie choked out, shaking her head. "Aren't you even a little worried about what happened to me?"
"You deserved it," Helen said mercilessly. "No wonder Arthur dumped you."
Cassie was at a loss for words, and the last bit of hope in her heart was crushed.
She thought to herself, 'I am truly foolish. I should never have come back. The truth doesn't matter to Dad and Mom. What matters is that Olivia is irreplaceable.'
With a heart full of despair, she reached out to Helen. "Give me my phone. I'll leave. A disgraceful daughter like me doesn't deserve to come back, and I don't deserve to have any relationship with you."
"You want to go out and embarrass me further or cause more trouble?" Robert sneered. "You'll stay home and reflect on your actions. I'll consider letting you out when you behave."
He clapped his hands, and several bodyguards immediately walked in and tied Cassie up.
"What are you doing? This is kidnapping!" Cassie was on the verge of losing it. She never imagined they would treat her this way.
"I'm disciplining you. Take her upstairs and lock her up," Robert snapped.
Olivia quickly intervened, "Dad, don't do this. Cassie is still young and immature. Besides, we often have guests at home. If she starts yelling upstairs, it won't look good."
Robert hesitated. "You have a point. Let's send her back to the Brooks Manor in Willowbrook Town."
Cassie was terrified. She knew the Brooks Manor was an old house left by the Brooks family decades ago. Although it had been renovated, it was still desolate and eerie.
She finally understood why Olivia had pleaded for her. "Olivia, you bitch!"
